So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Grady, exactly how much money did you win betting on the Yankees in the 7th game?

Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!

REMY FOR MANAGER!

Mark, Boston

I feel that the Sox have no choice but to drop Grady. The public outlash of game 7, along with Grady's managerial performance in that game along with several suspect moves in the playoffs (continuing to hit and run on 3 and 2 counts, pulling the infield in with guys on 2nd and 3rd with one out instead of walking the batter are other examples), dictates a need for a change. I suspect the person hired for this position is ultimately interim by circumstance, but if I had to make a choice it would be Glenn Hoffman. He has the best mix of experience (with being interim), hometown ties and lack of negative history (Hargrove and Fregosi seem like retreads to me). Either way, I stand by the excellent job the Red Sox Management has done thus far.

well if joe torre is not back with the yankees then i think it should be him if joe torre stays then i think it should be don zimmer or butch hobson . butch hobson deserves a second chance to come back to manage the red sox .

I think it is a bummer that the Sox aren't keeping Little. Last season was the best in a LONG time for the Sox, with no end of season collapse as usual. Grady had a lot more positives than negatives, and who knows what his successor will bring to the table.

Grady was probably the perfect manager for the time he was here. Endeared by his players and a good filter between the clubhouse and the rest of sox nation. Every manager is going to make decisions that are question by an emotional fanbase. Grady's biggest problem was not learning from his mistakes. If he had admitted he had blown it, he would have been welcomed back by the masses after the tempers cooled. Our biggest problem is who is going to be at least as good as Grady Little.

I'm glad the bum is gone! People here talk about the one decision its not just that decision, he's been bad since he arrived in BeanTown. Manuel or Randolph I would like to see next maybe Randolph a little higher though. He deserves a coaching job and it won't hurt to see the "Evil Empire" lose all their coaches.

This is so disappointing. Little may not be the best manager out there, but he has one thing that many do not - the loyalty of the players. They respond to him.

Keep it in the club. Jerry Remy: loved and respected by many.
