After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Page 12 I am sorry to see Grady go .... I have been a long time Red Sox's fan !!! The Question is what if he took out Pedro in that inning 2 or even 3 batters earlier and the Bullpen BLEW IT !!! He is damed if he did and damed didn't !!! But who will replace him ??? All I'm happy about is the Yankee's lost in 6 games to the (1/3 the salary) Marlins ... WATCH OLD GEORGE FLIP HIS LID NOW !!!! DAN, ALBANY,NY I believe this is the right decision. Without question, Grady Little's ability to manage the Red Sox would have been severely impaired in light of the Game 7 catastrophe. While he did have several positive qualities (including his ability to keep the clubhouse in order), the negatives became all to clear in the most important post-season situations. Even the most resilent teams would have a difficult time getting over losses like Game 7 (imagine being a PLAYER thinking about it for four months). It's time to move on. Matt, Westford Grady, thank you for an entertaining season. You put many smiles on my face this year. The funny thing the media is; If you win, they write you up as hero. If you lose, they write you up as the goat. Either way the newspaper has a story and sells its papers. But now you don't have a job because of one decision you made. You did it all season and it got you to the championship series, 7 games against the Yankees! The last playoff series against those Yankees didn't go 7 games. It also wasn't as exciting. I feel the team has improved and they were right around the corner to winning a World Series. The papers don't get paid to make those decisions, they get paid to write a story after the fact. Next year, I'm sure you will be coaching again in some capacity. Good Luck to you. Pete, Norwich, CT Grady - you ruined our chance for a World Series title with your ignorance and inability to do your job. Have fun in retirement. Your mistakes will never be forgiven! Scott, Hudson Don Zimmer?? get the hell out of New England. Andy, Barrington, NH Contrary to what Grady thinks, these fans here aren't calling for his head b/c of the RESULT of the decision to leave Pedro in, rather it was the DECISION itself (which defied all logic). If Grady had paid any attention to stats and history he would have realized that Pedro isn't very effective beyond the 100 pitch mark. The decisions to send him out for the 8th and then stick with him in the 8th when he was over 120 pitches were reckless, foolish, and lacked intelligence. Rarely will teams win it all having made these types of decisions. The Sox bullpen, although terribly inconsistent throughout the season, exhibited dominance throughout the playoffs. I'm not saying the Sox would have won the game if Grady had pulled Pedro earlier, but it would have been a decision these fans would have more likely stood behind either way - based on the statistics and matchups (don't even get me started on Pedro throwing to Matsui who clearly had been hitting Pedro well) alone. John, Braintree I think I read where G. Little was complaining how in Red Sox Nation one is never forgiven for making one mistake. Then he goes on to say that he would do the same thing all over again (leaving Pedro in to pitch when he was tiring) well I guess until G. Little realizes what a mistake is, his managing the Red Sox daysshould be over. Obviously the front office of the Red Sox know what a mistake is and they corrected it. So long Grady. Jeffrey, Los Angeles. CA Time to move on. Grady had zero idea on what to do with his pitching staff. The way the bullpen was going in the playoffs there was no reason to let Pedro go beond 7 innings. Pedro did his job, everyone did their job except Grady. This is a veteran club it needs a veteran manager. Someone who knows how to close the deal. Herzog or Leyland would be perfect maybe Fregosi. Glenn, Cary, North Carolina I thought that I was going to smash the tv that night game 7.That was the most stupid decision that Grady could have made to leave Pedro in,Timlin was masterful the whole series.I wonder how much Grady got from the bookies for throwing the game.Idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Ken, Chicopee Honestly liked the guy. Had a good rapport with the players and was a factor in so many of the close games this season that I believe he deserved another shot. How many guys had career seasons under him this year...? I think more attention need be paid to the prima donna pseudo superstars who really dropped the ball in the playoffs, namely pedro, nomaah and manny.
