So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Management is over reacting. Grady did a great job keeping the guys focused and playing well. He also made some questionable descisions. All in all I would bring him back for another year. Then, if the team can't win it all, he should be gone.

Yeah, it is the correct move. Grady did some great things, but you can not manage by the seat of your pants in a division series. As for a replacement, what about Mike Stanley?

It is days like today that make me embarrassed to be a Sox fan. Having grown up living and breathing all things Boston sports I have become accostomed to all the Monday morning quarterbacking and second guessing (no surprise that MA is overwhelmingly democrat!) but this is mental midgetry at its worst. The Boston mob mentality sucks yankee ass! Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this ownership the same that sold the Marlins (you know, World Series Champion!) so they could have the "privilege" of owning the Sox?! Another sad day in the "storied " history of the Olde Town Team!! The Sox deserve everything they get!!

i am very disappointed that the red sox let grady go....what more can the team ask for....i don't agree with the move in game 7 but he has managed these guys all year...you have to give him the benefit of doubt....if he had brought the bull pen in and tey blew the game then everyone would be all over grady for that...so he was really in a no win situation...now we must find someone that can sooth the egos of all the players on this team....grady was great at that and i think that there is something to be said for that....thank you grady little for 2 great years...i will surely miss you

Jerry Remy brings so much insight on the intricacies of the game in his broadcasts, as well as what may or may not be running through a manager's mind when certain plays are being made. Even though he has no coaching experience, at least not on this level, he has been thinking like a manager for a long time now, and knows this team as well as anybody. I fear that we'd lose him on NESN (he's irreplaceable) and maybe as a fan of the team because, let's face it, Sox managers have a short shelf life and if they don't win it all, and soon, under Remy, he'd be gone too. Remy is a big part of my Sox experience.

I would like to see Jim Leeland as our next manager. If Leeland is not interested I'd love to see what Remy could do with this squad. Remember this: Pat Riley was a Laker's announcer before he coached them. Besides the Diamondbacks hired their announcer and look what they did with him!

It's pretty bad, when I have non-sports people, let alone non-baseball people, asking me about game 7, "Why didn't that guy take that pitcher out?". See ya, Grady. Let the Davey Lopes era begin. He needs good players around him and he'll win, cuz he has half a brain unlike some people.

Yes, Little made a huge mistake. Yes, the Yankees won again Yes, I am still upset over a week later NO, he should not have been let go. He took the team to a level it hasn't reached since 86'. You don't cut off the head to cure a head ache. He forged a chemistry and compatability on a team that has historically not much. Maybe Dennis Leary has the right idea when he said we should clone TED, now that we have him in the freezer in New Mexico. Later Boston, see you in a month

Yes they did make the right move. I think Mike Stanley should be the next manager.

I thought Grady was coming out to lift Pedro. Embry and Timlen were warm. It took "165" games to get the "bullpen" cooking. They were pitching "lights out" in the post-season. You're the manager it's your decision not Pedro's. The object is to win not please a certain player. Boston Billy
