After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Page 2 Huge Mistake. I'm so disgusted with this decision, I can't even suggest another candidate. As sad as this season ended up, The Summer of 2003 was a success and will be remembered forever....like it or not. This would've have been possible without Grady Little. He deserves at least another two years. Today I pity the Boston Red Sox front office. Jon, Chantilly, VA Amen dust, framingham Grady Little was decent, not great in the regular season. He made a lot of bad moves in the playoffs besides the leaving Pedro in the game too long. 1. In game 1 vs the A's, The Red Sox were up by a run late in the game and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. He used Adrian Brown as a pinch hitter and Brown strikes out. 2. In game 4 vs the A's, he leaves Burkett in the game too long and the A's score 3 runs in the 6th. 3. In game 5 vs A's, he takes Timlim out after one batter and outs in a tired Williamson. 4. Game 2 vs the Yankees, he benches Walker even though lefties hit Pettitte better than righties and Walker was one of the most productive hitters. 5. Game 6 vs Yankees, he put in Todd Jones in a close game and the Yankees almost broke the game open. Some might say, it's easy to second guess, but I was criticzing these moves while he was making them. All of these moves cost or almost cost the Red Ox games. Dan, Brockton I belief that the decision Little made in the 7th game of the playoffs was only one of many reasons he was fired....it maybe that the Red Sox have become a franchise who will except only a world series victory as a reason for the resigning a manager from year to year.....looks like the Stienbrenner mentality has finally arrived at the old ball park....thank god I'm not in the running to become the manager.... jim , yarmouthport Grady, You will be missed!!! One more year and he would have gotten the job done right (world champs) The players will miss him and I as a fan will miss him.Best of Luck Grady!!! arthur, woburn Great job, Sox! Way to fire a successful manager. You deserve what you get from now on. Toby, Cambridge yes to little jerry, di lillo I agree with this. I was born and raised in NY and now work in mid town NYC and have been a Red Sox fan since I could remember. The tag on my car even has the Red Sox symbol with the letters BOSOXS (Had to add the S at the end to get the tag) So you understand what it's like to have Yankee fans all around. I understand the fact that he left Padro in at the beginning of the 8th but felt he put Padro ahead of the goal of winning the game and the rest of the team. This was the time he need to step up to the plate and be the manager and not be managed by someone. I think from that point forward, it would be hard to trust him to make the right moves. We had this game won and Little lived up to his name. Brian , Fishkill, New York I am disgusted by this. The organization went from kissing his feet in public after game 6 to this; absolutely appalling. Christian , Clifton Park NY Once again, the Sox brass has failed to live in reality. This type reality required that they weigh 188 wins against one decision. Good luck finding someone who can control head-cases the likes of a slowing down Pedro and a 'I'll play hard only when it means something to me' Manny. Who should get the job? Someone who could make a positive impact on the team, someone who is professional and can lead. My vote? Dwight Evans!
