So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

I think Grady Little really wanted the very best outcome for game 7. He, and Pedro, were just reaching higher than anyone else cared to. He took a big gamble, and he lost. If he had won, he'd be a hero. Maybe he just has more guts than everyone else. You know what they say - we'll get them next year. W.

If Grady had told Red Sox Nation when he was hired, "two years from today we will be in the ALCS, three years from now we'll win the series" would we have hired him? My guess is yes. We had a manager that proved his ability to get us to the dance, now we need Theo to make the big trade for a third pitcher to seal the deal.

Even though I cursed him out after we lost, I think he did a remarkable job for the two years he was here. I have never seen a team get a long like these guys did. Plus what if he took Pedro out in the 8th and the bullpen lost it? They would have questioned taking him out when he only threw 100 pitches. I think Red Sox management made a big mistake getting rid of him.

from a life-long Sox fan- Grady was an idiot. We ran into a number of outs, and thge decision to leave in martinez was stupid. he likes to kiss butt on the superstars but can't stand up to him. he is a poor strategist. Bring in carleton Fisk or jerrry Remy and send him , to some bozo team, I can't stand him for another minute.

I think that they should keep Little because look at how far he got them this year in the playoffs. I say that Soxs management should keep him for the great job that he did insted of judging someone on one game of a series

Bring back Don Cherry since the Bruins don't want him. Or how about Hawk Harrellson.

If Little had pulled Pedro in Game 7 and the bullpen had imploded (as they have done in the past), everyone would have questioned his decision - myself included. Let's not forget that he coached a team that won 93 games last year and 95 games this year. The series with the Yankees went 7 games; none of the games were really blow-outs. The teams were evenly matched and it came down to one decision. Grady just happened to make the wrong one. I think it's awful that he's losing his job over this one. Who knows what Red Sox Nation will end up with for next year? We might revert back to the team of old - no camaraderie, no team support and no respect for the manager. . .

Grady Little should have been given the opportunity to stay with his team. I've watched him ever since his time with the Durham Bulls, and I think he's been a fine manager for the Sox over these last two years. Would he have been fired if he had replaced Martinez with Embree and Embree had given up the tying runs? Grady got our guys to the seventh game of the playoffs--I doubt any other manager would have done as well. I will miss him.
