After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Page 34 i wonder who was the boss out there in the field, Grady or Perdo!! That is why the boss gets paid....to make that decision. We had it in our hands with plenty of backup. Two more innings and New England would have been proud of the whole situation. I can not stand a weak boss!! grace, wilmington Grady is not the only one that should go ! Manny and his act need to open some other place Nomar and his attitude should hit the road. Pedro is more maintenance than an Opera Diva, but he can't hit the notes anymore, get him out of town also. Mike , Dedham, Ma I feel as though Red Sox management is making a serious mistake. Grady Little has done a terrific job with this team and his record backs that up. If the greatest pitcher in baseball (over the last ten years) gets 2 more outs in game 7, we wouldn't even be discussing this. It's not like he trusted just anyone, he trusted the best pitcher in all of baseball. Hardly seems like something he should lose his job over. But the only thing that matters is who can do the best job next year and I firmly believe that is Grady Little. None of the names currently rumored to be canididates have the track record Grady does. I know it's unlikely that he will return and I'm actually happy for Grady. He will end up somewhere managing a contender where he is appreciated instead of having to be ridiculed, second guessed and backstabbed by a bunch of jerks that need to get a life.....also known as Red Sox Nation. Jim, Reading Being a fan of the Evil Empire, I will say this much... The Red Sox are not making the right move in letting Little go because of one simple reason: Joe Torre is leaving, and the Evil Empire will most likely hire Little as their coach for next year. Why? B/c Steinbrenner is just the kind of ego maniac to do so. Other than that, since 1986, no other manager has come remotely close to doing what Little has done and since 1986, no Sox team has had such a powerful hitting lineup (from 1 to 9) as Little's most recent team. Frankly, I could care less who gets the Sox job, b/c I think the Sox already made the wrong move in letting Little go. But, if Theo is smart, which after this move I am doubting, he better hire Cito Gaston... b/c if he doesn't, the Yanks, if they pass on Grady, just may. Jason, Princeton Junction, NJ I think he be should be let go, not just for what happen in the playoffs. I think we could of won more games then we did in the season if Little made better calls. Jim, Randolph I think the Red Sox are making a BIG mistake in not renewing Grady Little's contract for next year and beyond. It is obviously too late now. Little made a mistake in game 7 of the ALCS but was a reasonable decision under the circumstances. However throughout the season he was responsible for getting the team playing together and getting the maximum effort from the majority of the players on the team. He got them to the playoffs (doubtful with any other manager available) despite having a lackluster bullpen. He even got the bullpen performing well at the end of the season. I am afraid that the familiar "Wait tell next year" will not be something we will be happy about. Jim, Waltham Grady Little made an assortment of bad moves during the playoffs well before the game 7 debacle. (see: the insistance of sending runners on 3-2 counts despite running into outs every time, insistence on putting Damian Jackson in despite something negative happening each time he did so, insistence on keeping Nomar in the #3 slot despite it hurting the team game after game, leaving Burkett in too long in BOTH starts.) The players won the games despite most of his moves. I will not miss Grady Little - nice guy, so-so manager. Christine , Wrentham LET'S GIVE JOE TORRES THE JOB. HE'S THE ONLY YANKEE I'D WANT TO SEE ON OUR TEAM !!!!!! BBARBARY, FRAMINGHAM Grady Little: Cowboy Unemployed. Hire Belichick. Mike, New Rochelle, NY He won 188 games over the last two years, he brought us to within 5 outs of the world series.... he should get another year. If he doesn get another year maybe theo should just go in the dugout.... and manage using his computer models!
