So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Absolutely the right move. The Red Sox are a team capable of winning it all with management that manages and does not allow the inmates to run the asylum. Pedro should have apologized for his part in the brush-back fiasco, and Grady should have been able to see what the world saw....Pedro had shot his bolt and was through for the night. It wasen't Pedro's decision to make.

Hey, at least the management knew when to pull Grady!!!

Next manager: M.L. Carr He can wave the white towel as Sox circle the bases in home run trots. Towel also comes in handy at crunch time in Bronx.

The hurt too deep---the memory too recent---he had to go... Replacement ---a respected player and leader who was respected for his leadership as player and then coach---Mike Stanley.

Jim Leyland. Look at the assortment of characters he had to manage in 1997.

Yes, Grady drove me nuts the whole season with the way he coached. He needed to be replaced after the non-move to the bullpen. Saying that he would do the same thing again is a good reason to dump him. Most people learn from their mistakes, but not Grady. They should wait for Joe Torre to quit as the Yankees manager, then hire him. He's the best coach in baseball.

No, they're not making the right decision. Grady Little made exactly the right decision when he left Pedro Martinez in the game rather than turn the situation over to a very very questionable bullpen. The opinions of the fans are absolutely meaningless. It is the opinions of the players in the clubhouse that should be of paramount importance. Of course that's just not the way it works here in that pathetic geo-emotion zone known as Red Sox Nation where the second guessing never ends and the opinions are Neanderthal in nature.

I think Grady did a decent job, but not good enough. With the best offensive team in 75 years, 95 wins is a slam dunk, and a bit of a disappointment. Maybe Grady was a good clubhouse influence, but that benefit gets wiped out by not making the obvious on field moves. I wonder where Mike Stanley is? Wasn't he preparing to be a big league manager? He seems like a good match to me.

Grady had to go for making the decision he made in game 7.

I must admit that after the final game of the ALCS I was one of the rabid masses salivating for Grady little's proverbial head to roll. Time has passed however, and a cooler head and logic has come to pass over me. Truth is, without Grady Little, we are not in that game in the first place. He is top notch at managing tough personalities and I commend him for that. I don't think he should be let go but I am sure he will; so I hope this doesn't turn into another curse...I also think that the sox need to be very careful in hiring a new manager. the players will not be happy about Grady's canning and will be unlikely to warm to a new manager soon.
