After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Sincerely, Ray Ray, Carver I think Grady is really getting the short end of the stick. Yes he made a tremendous blunder in game 7. But if this is what's become of this town, i.e. if you don't win it all you get run out of town, then it's no wonder the Sox haven't won a title since 1918. You win over 90 games two years in a row and you get canned? Who in their right mind will want to come and manage here? Jerry Remy? Are some Sox fans smoking crack? Sure he's smart and a great color analyst, but what's his management experience been? This town had better come to its senses soon and realize what a great thing we had this season. Dave, Boston the are making the right move IF they hire the right replacement.(not J. Remy). They need a manager that can attempt to control whats going on the field as opposed to waiting for something to happen. Paul, Billerica it definately was not the best move for the red sox to let grady little go. and slightly more disturbing is according to espn.com through an article from the boston herald, there's talk of having jerry remy manage the sox: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1647772 remy is a decent broadcaster, but never managing at the major league level in any capacity poses the question: is this the right move? if it's remy's desire to manage, you have to start smaller and work your way up. obviously, people like don zimmer, lee mazzilli, willie randolph or if available, joe torre would be the prime candidates to manage the red sox. take a page from the evil empire, by getting a former employee to expose the weaknesses of the yankees would be a siginificant advantage to overcame the yankees' rath on the sox. so close won't be so far anymore. dave, boston This is an abomination. This guy has done more for that team than any of us know. When was the last time you saw a group of Red Sox players you really liked and could relate to. Even Pedro and Manny came around in the end. Grady pulled that team together and it made every one of those players want to pull for each other, and seeing that as a fan made me want to root for them. So now they are going to bring in a guy who makes every decision based on statistics...good luck. I would bet that none of those players will have the years they had this past year. So if the manager next year does not at least go to the World Series should he be fired? Be careful what you wish for......................... Steve, Dartmouth Hi, Little made a big mistake in game seven BUT the Sox have played well under him for two years. Name the last manager for the Sox who had a record like his and was fired. We can all agree that Little should have pulled Pedro in Game 7 but should we be judging a coach on 1 wrong move, 1 error in judgement. Let's face it, he is the first coach in quite some time to get the overpaid egos in the Red Sox dugout in check and for the first time in my memory, build a team that acted as a team, not a bunch of out for themselves players. Shame on Theo. He will be lucky if the Sox have the results they did under Little with a new manager. This Theo hanging out with Dan Duquette? Sox Fan, Waltham I think that Grady Little is great with players but maybe that is his weakness. Even I could see that Pedro was out of gas. He should have taken him out sooner in game seven.
