So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Grady did a decent job with the team, but needs to learn a thing or two about managing a bullpen. This I believe is his weekness. I think the team must go in the direction of a manager with plenty of big league experience. Hargrove, Leyland or Fregosi would be my leading candidates.

Dear Boston Fans, I am a native of Worcester Mass. Loved the Sox my whole life- I was in 6 th grade in 1986 now I am 29- I will never believe again. The Sox are truly cursed. They will never win. The team needs to go -not Little- Fenway should be turned into a museum or community center. The firing of Grady Little further is an example of why they will never win. He made a terrible mistake- I believe his brain was actually possessed at the time - But unless we're going to bring in Joe Torre or Jim Leyland or Vince Lombardi the risk of losing him are greater- Statistics? How about July August swoons? Get ready for tumult ,turmoil and Cowboy down next year _ 75 wins- I for one won't be watching reading or following any of it. Perhaps if the Ownership had some faith of their own and recognized the obvious that they own a cursed team we could have pushed thru next year- With Grady

Grady Little won 188 games in 2 seasons, and has taken the Red Sox farther than any coach recently. Firing his is a horrible decision, and I lost some respect for hte Red Sox top dogs.

Would you really want to lose Remy as a broadcaster. I rather keep Grady.

Pfiel, Lynn

Only in Boston, would the fans and the media demand that Little be fired, after leading Boston to the pennant game. This is why Boston will never win a World Series again. The management, fans and local media are idiots.

On a related note, I was very glad to hear Pedro cowboying up and saying to blame him and not Little. I still think it's the manager's job to know when his pitcher has had it but the maturity shown by Pedro is heartening especially after that game 3 meltdown. Back in the saddle for '04!

red sox fan since 1938.this year was a roller coaster.everyone talks now about95 wins. i think the sox had the players this year to have105 wins and run away with the league. a change at this point was absolutely necessary.grady is a very nice person but he sure made a lot of key mistakes during the year.i could list many of them but i have said enough. good luck grady .we will see how you do at your next stop. go sox

Grady Little...peace out. Have fun somewhere else !!!

First reaction - dump Jed Clampett. However, it will be absolutely critical to consider the team-building that Little was so successful in accomplishing throughout the year with this bunch of "misfit toys." There were so many new faces and such high expectations. It was not just happenstance that Messrs. Mueller, Ortiz and others had career ears. And with the big egos, there was never a situation as the footbal Bengals are facing with Cory "trade me" DIllon, except perhaps Pedro in early season. I don't know who will be on the shortlist for managers, but ownership need to understand the BALANCE between statistical managing and gut managing. These are human beings here who perform based, in parts, on their abilityies and the environment. And justice for all....

What a stupid move? Just when they get someone who can keep control in the clubhouse..... they let him. It's going to fall apart and I predict they don't make the playoffs next year.
