So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

GRADY'S A GOOD MANAGER, I WOULD HAVE LEFT PEDRO IN BUT REMEMBER ALL THE WINS LITTLE MANAGED TO GET AND IT WENT TO GAME SEVEN AGAINST THE YANKS AND LOST BY ONE RUN. LOOK AT THE MEN LOB DURING BOTH PLAYOFF SERIES. ALSO HIS DEMISE CAME NOT BECAUSE HE DID,T MANAGE GOOD ENOUGH BUT THAT HE WANTED A LONG TERM CONTRACT AND THE BRASS DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE IT TO HIM. I AGREE GO BOSTON!

Grady did an amazing job with this team. He should not have lost his managing position. Stuff happens though, I wish him the best of luck, and hopefully we will get a new manager who can do equally as well as little did if not better

It wouldn't have worked out for Grady in Boston after Game 7 of the ALCS. He deserved a better fate, he did alot of good with the Red Sox, but he'll always be remembered for his big mistake around here....fair or unfair. I doubt he'll come back to "haunt" the team, as he has said. Can't wait to see Jerry Remy in the dugout next season!!!

All things considered; I think Grady Little did a great job and I am sad to see him go. He deserved better treatment than he got from management. I am sure the players feel the same and they are the ones playing the game. I really enjoyed watching them this year and I think a big part of it was the way the team liked each other so much. Their opinions should have been considered. I hope that management doesn't end up regreting this move. Way to go Grady!

Tom Kelly is the only guy for this job, he can handle that tough press core up there in Boston. The players will respect him and he'll be able to keep that clubhouse together. We have a very small window and we have some unfinished business to get done next year. The Evil Empire is ripe to go down!!!!

Boston is just way too demanding and way too critical of its players, coaches and outcomes (if it's bad). What more do you want? Enough with Grady not taking out Padro in time.. Look at Josh. He did it all in just 3 days rest. Florida coach took the SAME chance and he won the World Series. I don't think Floridans would act in such way as the Bostonians did -- harsh, impatient, and very insecure. I became a Red Sox fan this season (what an exciting ball club!). After all the non-sense and insecurity, not anymore. Now I feel that Boston didn't deserve all that's happen. Wish you all the best.

Anyone who is posting comments positive to Little don't have a clue about baseball and are obviously not real sox fans. Argue all you want those are cold hard facts.

Get ready for Bill Gates to be the new Red Sox manager. His computer expertise is just what the current management crew wants. Everything will be automated leaving no room for human error. Labtops will be placed in the dugout with Bill James at Center Control. For those Grady bashers, remember one thing. Be careful what you wish for !

I think Grady got the players to play up to if not their full potential. I think a big reason for this seasons sucess was team chemistry and I'm afraid that this will seriously affect it in a negative way.

Here's a prediction: If the Red Sox brass is dumb enough to hire Jim Fregosi or Charlie Manuel to replace Grady Little, they won't win 85 games in 2004, and Pedro, Derek, Nomar and Jason will ALL be gone in 2005. Roseanna Roseannadanna, she of "Saturday Nite Live" fame, used to say, "It's always something!". She wasn't talking about the Red Sox, but they should stitch it on their uniforms! (By the way, I've been a Red Sox fan for 57 years, so I'm not a fair weather rooter).
