So long, Grady

After two years, 188 regular season wins, and a trip to the American League Championship Series, the Red Sox have parted ways with Grady Little. Are the Sox making the right move? Who should get his job?

Jerry Remy or Jim Rice would make a good manager

From the ignominy of being the last team in baseball to field a black player to riding Fisk out of town on a rail to blaming McNamara for leaving Clemens *IN* too long to blaming Little for not pulling Pedro *OUT* leading to Posada's bloop hit (yes, it was a flare, not line shot off Pedro that the Loser-Sox faithful are now moaning about) the Sox management never fails to do or say the wrong thing or act in a short-sighted, stupid manner. There is no curse other than a long and proud history screwing up the organization. They sold Babe Ruth. That was not the cause of their troubles, rather an example of the continuous mismanagement this franchise has endured. All their great players must leave this loser for real organizations in order to win. Of course, the fans are losers, too. Know anyone from Boston? Bostoners can never shut up about their team or stop bragging about it. Even Cubby fans don't engage in this type of verbal diarrhea. Its just another way Beantowners make themselves look stupid. Now if I could only get thru that g'damned jammed tunnel to get hell out of town.... Little is lucky to get out of there after 2 years. He's a winner but the Sox are not.

What a sad day it is to see Coach Little leave the team. His team played better this year than I'd ever seen - even with the shuffling of players by the new brass. Grady would have put last year's roster in the same place. He brought such a special ingredient to this area and into his team. He finally gave Boston the hope every one was looking for. Maybe a mistake with Pedro hurt the team short term, Grady's experience from that should have proved valuable wisdom to go forward with the Sox. I can't imagine any one for the job. After what they did to Grady and the team, who would want to relocate here to work for these clueless new owners???

Mike, Mount Pleasant, SC

Firing Grady? Another stupid move... ranks right up there with the bullpen by committee. The man did his job. The owners shouldn't let us knucklehead fans make hiring and firing decisions. The guy was a class act.,

It seems that catchers make great managers..I'd love to see Varitek as a player/manager, has that been done? Kind of a "no huddle" for baseball. He'll be a manager eventually..right?
