Man oh Manny

What do you think of the decision to put Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers? Will another team -- (gulp) Yankees -- take on the $104 million remaining on his eight-year, $160 million contract? If no team claims Ramirez, will the All-Star slugger get traded?

It could be a great move, if the Yanks pick him up. If the Yanks don't, then Manny knows that there's noone else out there who wants him. If Manny really doesn't want to shape up & fly right, or if he wants to go somewhere else, then maybe he just might break his own contract.

Planet Manny...population him. Thanks for coming. See you in N.Y. I would rather have Vladimir Guerrero anyday.

Matt , Salem, MA

I would try to trade him first. This way, you're just giving him to the Yankees.

Bill , New Bedford

WHY!

Chris, ALLSTON

This is typical of Red Sox management over the years---Babe Ruth--Fred Lynn-Carlton Fisk--Roger Clemmons--etc, etc. Pedro and Garciaparra will be next. Wait and see

Good riddance.

Manny should stay in Boston the new owners are making horrid decision, they free up money to spend on who? Manny is awesome and this new owner crew is going to drive this team back into the dark ages.

John , Spofford

Good Bye

Dan , Jacksonville, NC

Good move, Pedro should be next. Mariners have shown you can win with a bunch of players that want to play as a team and win. Too many "prima donnas" on the Red Sox.
