Man oh Manny

What do you think of the decision to put Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers? Will another team -- (gulp) Yankees -- take on the $104 million remaining on his eight-year, $160 million contract? If no team claims Ramirez, will the All-Star slugger get traded?

Good move, IF the Red Sox use wisely the money they save. BUT hold teh phone . . . it's unlikely the Yankees will be dumb enough to bite on this one. $20 season is a lot of $$, and George is already paying one DH (Giambi) big bucks. As for signing Vlad Guerrero . . . he's a low-key guy and doesn't like the limelight. He may well not be interestied/willing to play in a city like Boston or NY, where the pressure and spotlight will be on him.

Lets get Valddy baby. There is only one person who has enough money to buy a rocket to go to planet Manny, and his name is George.

While Manny has been productive, let someone else pay his salary. Let's use the freed up money for another solid starter and to resign the core of this club for years to come. I never thought I'd want the Yankees to make a significant addition to their ballclub, however the new bird that could be flying into Yankee Stadium could be the albratross if they claim him. It might also mean that Pettite could come to us.

you want statistical thinking? here's a stat: manny was 0 for the season with bases loaded. the guy's a distraction in the club house and can't deliver the big hit.

I THINK ITS A GOOD MOVE , BUT WHAT SCARES ME IS, LOOK AT THE NUMBERS MANNY PUT UP WHILE PLAYING ON A TEAM HE REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO BE ON, IMAGINE WHAT HE WILL DO WHILE PLAYING ON HIS HOME TEAM THE YANKEES, A TEAM HE HAS SAID HE WANTS TO BE ON.

JOHN, LITCHFIELD, N.H.

I will tell you why, because they want his baby whining rich *** gone, and they can take his money and go get other players. But I will laugh my *** off if he goes to the Yankees.

Todd, Wilmington

A great and gutsy move, can't wait to hear what Pedro says.
