What do you think of the decision to put Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers? Will another team -- (gulp) Yankees -- take on the $104 million remaining on his eight-year, $160 million contract? If no team claims Ramirez, will the All-Star slugger get traded?

Manny, Boston This is the right move. Ramirez has a ton of talent, but his complacency and lack of passion disrupt the chemistry required to win. He doesn't seem to care to win, probably because he's more concerned with his bank account and his hair. Florida, Anaheim, and Arizona have showed us that team chemistry is invaluable, and dumping Manny makes the chemistry of the Red Sox much better. Manny has been unfairly vilified by the (racist talk show hosts, mostly) press around here. His every move has been unnecessarily scrutinized. Manny in pin stripes! Horrible! One would hope that the current owners of the Red Sox would have learned from past historical mistakes. Getting rid of Grady was a good idea. Getting rid of Manny is not! This team is wonderful. Watching them play is a joy. Manny has become a very good out fielder as well; making some great grabs in left field. He has been great before games, giving out autographs and greeting fans. By now, you probably realize that I am an avid Sox fan.
