People - Manny isn't going anywhere. I hate to break it to you. Yes, it's nice the Red Sox put him on waivers. Do you think that's a positive sign for any other team that wants to take him on? NO! They'll look at this move and interpret it as it is - a sign of desperation from a team totally frustrated at Manny's attitude and one-dimensional play. No team with an ounce of sense will make a $20 million per year commitment to this enigma.

I think placing Manny Ramirez on waivers is as stupid as geting rid of Grady Little. Both decisions are incorrect. Leaders of the team should not be put out to pasture because they do not have a World Series ring on their finger. Chemistry in a team should remain as long as possible while the winning ways continue.

It's a gutsy move for the Sox but it could very well work out in thier favor. If they dump a guy like Manny with his salary they could go out and sign a guy like Colon and be able to offer a lot of those guys who's contracts are up next year a deal to keep this team together. Not to mention if NY signs him they get stuck with a head case who is a defensive liability and they wouldn't be able to sign Vlady who is a much better player all around.
