Man oh Manny

What do you think of the decision to put Manny Ramirez on irrevocable waivers? Will another team -- (gulp) Yankees -- take on the $104 million remaining on his eight-year, $160 million contract? If no team claims Ramirez, will the All-Star slugger get traded?

Certainly Theo has looked at the much bigger picture here. You don't just toss a value like Manny without a master plan. With the money, he is sure to sign Ortiz (who by the way is just a useless as Manny in the field and on the bases) & Walker and if the Yankees get Manny, Theo must realize that no one but the Red Sox can afford Vlad. But...wasn't there a real question about pitching this year...?

Does this mean ticket prices are going to go down?

i think it's great because now the Yankees can pick him up,,,,with me being a yankees fan and all,,,,,,,,,,,,

How much are the Yankees paying the Boston brass to make irrational decisions?

TAKE MY OUTFIELDER....PLEASE! I would love to see the Yanks take this mental midget off our hands and give us some room to go and grab a free agent arm. We could also secure Nomar, Lowe and Varitek...will Georgie's ego get the best of him and take the bait or will he realize in essence he's doing us a favor and decline? The next 48 hours will tell.

A huge mistake if the Yankees pick him up!!

I don't love Manny but......Jeter, Soriano, Williams, Manny,Giambi,Posada, Matsui......Yikes!!!!!!!!

Manny is great, and the Red Sox are on the verge of another great season. I would not like to see the team shaken up. Manny is too important at this time for trading possibilities.

Rich, Melrose

Give up Many? I say its about time. He's a good hitter, average to poor fielder, and he has an attitude of a quitter. Many says he wants to finish his carear with the yankees? I say adieu Manny

Think about it. This waiver is definitely the right thing to do.
