The weather outside is frightful
What is the best way to stay warm while sitting in the stands at Gillette Stadium in sub-zero temperatures?
Page 1 Hard Liquor before the game to warm you up. Hard Liquor during the game to cheer the Pats on. Hard Liquor after the game to celebrate a victory. Sleep in Sunday. Jason, Cumberland, RI As a nurse and scout leader and former girlscout, be prepared for the worst. Electric socks, electric gloves, subzero weight thermal undershirt and longjohns, ski weight turtleneck, wool ski sweater (cotton sweaters or sweats won't help in this weather), face masque, Patriots wool hat, ski jacket with hood, snow pants, sweat wicking liner socks under the electric ones, sorrel boots. Also, bring extra batteries for the socks and gloves, and hand and body warmer packs just in case. And last but not least, hunker down with the sleeping bag wrapped around you. Drink hot chocolate or ask for hot water for herbal tea. Coffee has too much caffine which will decrease body temperature, more than one beer at the stadium will reduce your body warming abilities. Lather up skin with a good lotion that will be exposed for any time. Limit exposure of skin to the air to less than 5 minutes. If your toes or fingers start to get cold, keep them moving, go into the restroom if you can't warm them up. Go to the first aid stations as needed. Get a warm cup of anything to hold in your hands . Bring thunder sticks as handclapping with gloves on doesn't make much noise. Ann, Cromwell, CT. Lots of layers of clothes, those chemical reaction warming things in the mittens and socks, and (GASP!!) no alcohol. Jean, Woburn Blankets, brandy and more brandy. Michael, Boston, MA Drink large amounts of tequila before after and during the game. Then take your shirt off and scream GO PATS! Buster, Woburn stay home and watch it on High definition TV Chuck, Woburn Go to the nearest watering hole and enjoy cold beer in a warm bar and sit in front of a big tv. You will probably be closer to the action there anyway. Bryan, Medfield, MA Chuck from Woburn said it best!! That's the only way to go!! Mark, Foxboro Two pairs of socks, heavy boots, long johns, ski pants, a heavy jacket, gloves, and a heavy wool hat. And a couple of pints of brandy wouldn't hurt, either!!! Bob, North Andover Use this guaranteed formula: Big-Screen TV + Comfort of your living room + Roaring fire + Bodacious party food + The Requisite Cold Beverages = GO PATS!!!!!!!!! Marcus, Foxboro
