Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

I thought it was distasteful. My 8 year old was watching the game, as well as many other children. We do not need to see them bumping and grinding all over eachother, grabbing crotches and pulling off shirts... PERIOD! This is the SUPERBOWL!

When you have no talent (Justin Timberlake) and are really washed up.. (Janet Jackson) you have to do something that will leave people talking about your performance. It was planned, bottom line... I don't care what they say. You can tell he clearly reached over to grab it off, no bra t op just comes off like that... besides she was wearing some pastie like thing.

Classless.

Great game however!

I paid twenty bucks for the Lingerie Bowl, and I would have seen more nudity for free on the CBS halftime show !?!?!?

Their careers are over....really, this time their careers are caput.

My girlfriend was doing laundry when it happened and she wants to know where she can see a replay.

Adam, Medford

Well guys it was a real breast with a nipple ring in the shape of a star surrounding the nipple and you will find the pics of it on the net already!

Who freakin cares? It is a breast, it was totally planned, they already have articles out saying that people at CBS knew about it.

My 3 yr old was watching along with my friends children, it was a breast people my son saw mine during breast feeding, no big deal.

But then again I am 26 and am part of the MTV generation.

This stunt was clearly planned. It was obvious that Janet had a pastie star on covering her nipple. Anyone who thinks that this was classless and / or offensive needs to grow up and stop being so ignorant. The reason stunts like this are performed are to anger and offend narrow-minded, ignorant people. Step outside of the United States and you'll see that the rest of the world is much more mature. They don't get offended or angry when they or their children see natural parts of the human body.

For Kim, in J.P., in case she sees this:

You commented that the rate of domestic violence is higher on Super Bowl Sunday than on any other day of the year. This statement is demonstrably false (see http://www.snopes.com/crime/statistics/superbowl.asp) to read more about it).

Domestic violence is a serious problem that affects far too many women and men, and one that deserves much more attention than it currently gets, but rumors and false statements do nothing to further that cause.

As a college student, I think that I have had a lot of exposure to the world of MTV through the years. I know about the media and how it functions to get ratings. And, after reading the many responses posted, I also realize that there are some people out there that will never have any real taste. SO, I can say nothing more than that the show was disgusting. If entertainment is all about grabbing your crotch, disgracing the flag by wearing it, and exposing a breast, then we are really in for some great stuff in the future now, aren't we? Where do you go from here, I mean seriously, I thought that entertainment required talent. If the show consisted more of the dancing during Rhythm Nation and less of the sexual ineundos, I think that it may have been "ok." This was a great game, one of the best Superbowls in the history of the NFL, and MTV, Justin, Janet, Nelly, and Kid Rock ruined it. Good job guys! you may make a lot of money, but everyone knows how stupid you looked, and I know how little talent that show really took.

If you want to see real talent, check out the team that won. I bet they could have done a better job in the halftime show than the artists. Go Pats!

Not really. If thought about in the context of what's on the news...no, but I personally felt that for the superbowl it was a little inappropiate.

It's sad to see another great Super Bowl overshadowed by the events that surround the game. It's appauling that America's premiere sporting event has turned into a bunch of commercials and a horrendous halftime "show" with a little football shoved inbetween.

Tim, Hampton, NH

that was awesome....justin definitely meant to do it....just look at his face, that scoundrel
