Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

Good Show Patriots! Fifteen, “One Game at a Time”.

“Football” and the "Super Bowl Commercials" are the only reasons I watched CBS Sunday Night. Had the NFL sponsored "The Best Plays of The 2003 Season", I would have even watched CBS during “Half Time”.

I find it hard to believe that MTV's demographic compliment the NFL's. Accounts of the “Half Time Extravaganza" seem to corroborate my beliefs.

Next year the NFL should consider Playboy for arrangement of the “Half Time” show. Then, there will be no surprise, or network embarrassment, to contrived pasty flashing, and I might even stay tuned during “Half Time”.

Contented Patriots fan.

No. We are all together too hypocritical about how sex is portrayed in entertainment. The nature of Jackson's exposure was, in fact, so brief, as to be practically non-existent to the TV audience. CBS is apologizing for nothing. The amount of attention payed to the incident is far more pornographic than the incident itself.

All of you Euro wannabies who think "America has to lighten up" are missing the point.

T.F. from Oakland Ca was right. I think the problem with the stunt was *not* the fact that there was an exposed breast (how many times have we seen Lil' Kim strutting around, clad only in pasties) but the fact that Janet's shirt was torn off by Justin. I agree that it is messed up, and it gives the message that it's okay for men to treat women that way.

A publicity stunt by a couple of has beens... who cares. I am thrilled because they can now do away with the crappy canned grap your crotch a-thon halftime shows. TV does not do those types of shows justice anyway, you have to be there to feel any energy.

I felt the entire half time show was absoulety ridiculous. The event was geared to the youth with its sadistic and flirtacious dancing, something that should not have been seen on world wide television. I bet the average person who went to Houston, purchased tickets to the game, enjoyed the amentities of the city were on the 40+ age range

So why not gear the show to them.

This was simply bad taste

It was definitely a staged event to try and boost Janets already dwindling career. You can see she has something covering it and the shirt wouldn't have perfectly fallen apart like that if it wasn't. Way to ruin football MTV.

She's already shown them off in Playboy, what's the big deal?

Congratulations to the Patriots. Robert Kraft and family clearly run one of the best, if not the best, organizations in professional sports. I hope that Mr. Kraft again rewards every member of the Patriots organization with a Super Bowl ring.

As for the half-time show, the music was terrible.

Two years ago, U2 completely rocked! The organizers should try in the future to get one great band or performer, rather than an assortment of mediocre (at best) performers.

As for Janet Jackson . . . Seriously, what is the harm? Yes, it was most likely planned and a clear violation of the performers commitments to CBS and professional football, but the world will go on.

Does anyone truly believe that viewers (be they young or adult) who saw on television for less than two seconds Ms. Jackson's breast will be scarred for life? Scarred for a day?

As for the children? Seriously, they can handle it and you can too.

was what i would expect from mtv. that is way i would not it allowed in my living room. Must have been a lot of money involved in this one.

I think Justin should have replaced Janet's support immediately. She really needed it.

Janet proved she was just another Jackson after all.

Get Quincy Jones to do halftime next year for some class, or you will see another washed up singer topless.
