Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 29 The show was disappointing until Rythm Nation came on. Then to have it end in a pornographic scene on national television was a crime. Bad show! Tina M, Lowell, MA I am a huge Janet Jackson fan but I thought the show was show so boring! The ending was inappropriate in my opinion but it happend...oh well. Michelle, Medford Oh whatever- I saw it, and A) the camera was way too far back for you to really see anything, and b)...it's a BREAST people. A breast is meant to feed a child and nothing more. Who cares. What's next? No more showing of ankles after 7pm on cbs? Of all the things in the world to worry about, this really ought to be pretty low on the list. T, Boston Before the "breast-baring", my thoughts were mostly negative. Who thought those bozos had talent? After JJackson - I realize I am not a prude - the whole thing was tastless. AL, Reading There is a segment of or society who are incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong. This intentional strip show should result in a fine which will result in the firing of every CBS and MTV executive who signed off on this stunt. AJ, Boston The idiots in the NFL front office got what they deserved...as far as we could tell, the "entertainment" before, during and after was comprised wholly of over the hill, marginally talented, irrelevant acts which the performances themselves bore out. Keep that junk on MTV where those who want to pay inflated cable rates can watch it but keep it out of network. Carlos, Worcester Worst half time show I've ever seen. The breast baring incident was minor but the show absolutely stunk. Did someone have to pay for that non-entertainment? Al, Chelmsford, ma Disgusting, inappropriate, totally unnecessary. Don't we want our younger children enjoying the sports events without having to be exposed to this type of "entertainment" My 8 year old grandson watches the game with us and I thought it was in incredibly bad taste. CAROLE, BOCA RATON, FLORIDA I was surprised like most people of Janet's breast exposure. But I was more disturbed by the portion of the 1/2 time show that featured stripping cheerleaders and erotic dancers. In a culture where soft porn is being used heavily in advertising, television, and stores -- I had hoped that the Super Bowl would have had higher standards that wouldn't promote eroticism and crude titilation. The show definitely tarnished the themes of the Super Bowl that teach our society the benefits of dedication, determination and perserverance, which are higher planes for all of us to strive for. Along with team work, unity, and encouragement that both sides exhibited throughout the game. CBS should have thought twice before hiring MTV -- where the ALMIGHT "I" reigns supreme, where everything is relative and where the latest shocking exploit grows cold quickly. In their world nothing is wrong or right. As long I can do and say whatever I please. M Imbrogna, Boston/Hyde Park It was beautiful!
