Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 33 I think they were just trying to top the Britney/Madonna kiss, and get more publicity. Michelle I thought it was disgusting and it never should have happened. This show was watched by millions of people, including many, many children and this action was unacceptable. In fact, the whole half-time show wasn't what should have been for a Super-bowl half-time production. Wearing the American flag was a disgrace to everything it represents and should not have been allowed to be worn. The half-time show was for the rock n'rollers, not the normal American public. MTV should never have been chosen as the producers of the half-time show. It was a disgrace to all watching. Elaine , Worcester, MA The halftime show as a whole was a pale comparison to the U2 halftime show the last time the Pats were in the Bowl... even with the "boob incident". Dave N., Beverly I loved the pregame portion. Very classy-Willy Nelson, Beyonce, Aerosmith, & Josh Grogan. Why did you not have the same caliber of talent during half-time?????? I was disgusted with the choice of performers-you could not understand what they were singing and during a family time on TV to have the performers grabbing their crotch and grinding on each other and then the ultimate disgust- Janet's breast. It is a sad time that this is allowed to be aired. Please do not put this on again. Leslie Clark, Newton Centre, MA Forget about whether or not the breast baring went too far, I'm sick of these RIDICULOUS half-time shows!!!! Not only is the entertainment almost always terrible (except for the year U2 played), but it lasts way too long. Enough already. Give the guys their usual halftime break and let them back out to play!!! Beth, Boston Totally out of line. When are these pop stars going to realize they have a small place in the grand scheme of things? Fools. Wanda, Chelmsford Why was she invited in the first place? There are so many other talented performers to choose from. This was all pre-planned and in very poor taste. Hopefully, she will not be invited to another "big show" in the future. Ann, Meriden, CT Many of the responses that I read are way out of line and it shows why society is in a moral nose dive. It was planned by Jackson and CBS should take appropriate and swift legal action against the bozo's involved. Maybe someone could have some class next time. How many children saw that? A lot, and it was totally inappropriate. If you want to see that crap then swing by your local projects. Don't expect that you are going to see it on TV during prime time viewing hours! Jim, Atlanta The whole halftime show was great, up until Janet and Justin's little "staged" show. It was so obvious that is was preplanned. To behave so badly on national TV is a disgrace. The Super Bowl should be remembered as a game, not Janet and Justin's lack of poor taste. I used to think Janet was better than her brother MIchael. I guess the acorn does not fall too far from the tree. Lynn , Revere I thought that the half time show was a joke and CBS should be ashamed of themselves. Whether or not Janet Jackson's little stunt was planned or not, it should have never happened. I do not consider myself a prude, by any means, but the half time show should be in good taste.
