Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

Was it intentional? Yes. Why are we being subjected to this filth? Follow the money. Record sales are down-- dramatically-- 3 years running. Scared recording industry executives are motivating talent to push the "sex" envelope.

However, it does not seem that most Americans public want this. Again, follow the money. Look no further than the lackluster sales of Britney Spears, Pink & other performers. Recent/similar stunts by other entities have bacfired as well. Case in point, Abercrombie & Fitch... as a direct result of their "R" rated catalogs sales tapered dramatically... both catalog & retail.

So what's the message back to the marketing "geniuses" behind this garbage?

About 2 1/2 years ago the world changed-- forever. We want meaningful content... that's why films like Lord of the Rings just swept the Golden Globes, it's why artists/singers/songwriters like Norah Jones swept the grammy's. It's why TV shows like Joan of Arcadia & Touched By an Angel have done so well.

So, what's the message back to the forces that are driving this content?

1. Stop forcing your addictions & poor judgement on the general public. At minimum, put it in it's proper place-- not in prime time for all ages.

2. Get in tune with the nations current state of mind-- hint, it's traditional values if you haven't noticed... perhaps you'll make even make a few more bucks.

Yes, inappropriate.

Who cares?? Halftime at the superbowl is too long. It ruins the momentum of the game. Get rid of the show and let the game be the entertainment. How many tru football fans can say they are Justin Timberlake fans??

I couldn't tell if this was part of the act? What was it? I thought it went to far!!!

Yes, I definately think they went too far. Why do we have to watch someone exposing themselves during a football game? Aren't there adult channels people can turn on to watch that stuff? Hopefully children did not see or know what was going on.

Maria, So Easton

What'z the big deal? Americans should stop being so conservative...

Unless Janet files charges for assault, it was planned. MTV's tired formula is to create controversy for publicity. It started in the 80's with "I want my MTV" and they haven't been able to think of any other way to make themselves relevant. It's like clock work.

Whether you think the incident was tasteless or not, the sure thing is that the defense lawyers will be using this to defend the next time "Johnny" assaults "Sally". The poor boy saw Justin do it on the Superbowl, how could he help it?

I think it did go a bit too far (shows how desperate Janet is to get back into the younger Pop scene) and wasn't necessarily appropriate for all viewing audiences. I myself was not offended, just thought it was sad that she had to go to that length to get viewers to notice her. I can see how people with children may have thought it went too far, because I am sure they were not prepared for that!

Janet is a desparate has-been trying to get back in the lime light.

After that incident, I had to spend the next 10 minutes explaining to my 7 year old daughter why some complete moron would do that.

Thanks a lot MTV, CBS and especially Janet Jackson.

I love all these liberal frauds posting here "oh, it's only a breast...it's not a big deal, at least not as big a deal as healthcare, the war, blah blah blah". Not giving a hoot that kids were watching. That's all you need to know about their agenda and their responsibility for declining morals in thic country.
