Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 40 It was planned, obviously. Anyway I would much rather have had Aerosmith for the whole halftime. They are a great band. Diane, Wollaston The only parts of the half-time show I saw were a waste of feed. Shock value is fine, within it's proper venue. If I want to watch someone fondling themselves, or showing their breast, I'll order the Spice channel. The sports teams in general have taken a beating on their reps as being role models, do we have to add this base and insulting behavior. This is not about censorship, it is about choice and what I choose to watch or am subjected to. Let's stop trying to outdo each other and add some value! Lee, Boston Good lord people, get over it! She was wearing a freakin' pasty! It's the human body, not some crude object to be offended by. Oh...and it lasted a grand total of one second...I don't know why everyone is so up in arms about this all. Don't we have bigger things to worry about? Shannon, Cambridge I'd rather see an analytical discussion on the GAME with the comentators. If I wanted to watch this CRAP, I would tune into MTV . John N., Gloucester It was just so corny...there was nothing sexy or shocking about it. It's a football game...I like pretty women as much as the next guy but do I have to see wanna be strippers on TV everyday But we will cover it and and 5 years from now it will be on a top 100 most shocking moments on TV... Why do we have to have all that crap at half time. Can't we have a re-cap of the first half... Paul, Canton It was not a big deal. Everyone needs to relax and just enjoy the PATS win. It was only for a second or two. Personally I wish I could have seen more! Mike, Charlestown Leave it to CBS to be part of a half time show as we saw last night. I always thought a half time show was supposed to be a family event! It was nothing but trash! CBS should appologize to the nation and the producer should be fired! Jeff, York, ME I do not need a lecture from those of you who think that we live in Europe or are afraid we are going to run over by the censors. I am not a prude. However, there is a time and place for everything and breast bearing does not belong at a Super Bowl halftime show. This is what you get when you entrust MTV with responsibilty - pathetic "performers" like Timberlake and that P. Diddy moron. Thank God the game itself was superb. Kim, Washington DC Whats the big deal. People like Brittany Spears walk around like whores, and because of one "shock factor" moment people are going to freak... sex sells and its entertainment... I just dont see the point in making a big deal of it... should be focusing on Spears since she is a role model for our younger generation and the message she is putting out is that its ok to be slutty and have a bad voice at the same time. Jacki B, Quincy The game was fab, the half-time totally offensive. Certainly not prime time, family viewing. And talk about no talent.
