Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

It's a sad day when you can't watch the superbowl with family and children anymore because you have to worry about them seeing images that are not to be shared on television.

I was very disappointed and I will be alot more careful and weary of superbowls(especially half-times) in the future. Does mtv think that we appreciate the fact that they could pull a little stunt off for some excitement and controversy in their little world? Not everyone wants to see such erotic material when sitting around the t.v. with their family.

This incident made us feel sad for the fact that we thought people had more respect for us (as viewers) than that.

i think it's terrible that kids had to see this....this was family event....not an MTV video

What a bunch of crap! This planned accident was nothing more than a sleazy attempt to grab attention by employing one of the cheapest methods known to man. Who need talent ?

OOPS!

I didn't like the halftime show but not because of Janet's exposed breast. That was the most interesting part, I'm sad to say. Every artist in the show sang a song we have all heard over and over...

How about something new!!

But who cares the PATS WON

GO PATS

I am a bit disappointed with CBS and all of the sudden pubic nudity they cannot seem to avoid. Watching the Superbowl with my three sons whom I have always taught them to show proper respect for women having to see Janet’s shirt ripped off is inexcusable. CBS can Blame MTV all they want but CBS is the network that chose MTV for the Halftime show and its content. I do not normally allow my children to watch MTV but felt a network such as CBS would keep then in control. Then we watch Survivor another poplar show that CBS advertised several times during the Superbowl and now they have rich hatch naked through half the show. CBS can make all the excuses and blame MTV all they want for Janet and that’s fine maybe they lost control of their halftime show because its taped live. Although I cannot help but wonder what ever happen to tape delay or did their crew forget how it works. However, Survivor was taped and edited weeks ago and CBS could have easily left Richard hatch and his nakedness on the cutting room floor where he belongs.

CBS execs are hypocrites. Why is it okay to show a 10 year-old actor Angus Jones staring at woman in a thong during one of the promos for Two and a Half Men but feel they have to censor a shot of a breast covered by a pasty?

Do I think the stunt was intentional? You bet. Why else would Janet be wearing a pasty and Justin keep clutching the chest plate.

Perhaps CBS is just upset they weren't in "control," which they clearly exhibited this year by rejecting a couple advertisements. Perhaps they're just upset they didn't know about the stunt, which meant they couldn't promote it to further boost ratings so they could charge even more for commercials.

First of all, kids today act they way they do because of a lack of discipline by their parents, not because of a split second shot of a breast. Your perfect little angels have probably seen and done a lot worse behind your back anyway. Worry about where they really are and who their friends are...not about the superbowl show. It was ENTERTAINMENT, and just that. If you are so worried about what your children see, then you make it your job to sensor what they are exposed to...but shut up and let the rest of us be entertained.

Get over it!, Boston

Pathetic, why do they force feed us such inane stuff. It was the worst halftime show ever in the history of football. I had no interest in any of the "acts" and find the current halftime superbowl shows just dumb.

I think the half time show was appauling. The hard rock stuff was bad enough, then came the rap, and to top it off with the Justin/Janet show - really, did you think that the average American was going to condone that? I couldn't picture my father in law watching this, nor my nephews and neices. Where are our American idols? Is this the kind of stuff we want to teach our children? I think you need to consider a slightly more wholesome venue next time around. I was insulted and think this was a very biased show. This was a football game, not a circus!!

It was obviously staged. Why would she have been wearing that star?

The entire half-time show was total garbage. The NFL and CBS needs to do something about it. In addition to the Janet Jackson episode, the other performers and their lyrics were not appropriate for the audience at hand. The NFL and CBS must realize that there were hundreds of thousands of 7-12 year olds watching the game.
