Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 46 I thought that it was intentional on Timberlake's part, not on Janet's. She truly seemed shocked and horrified. Until all the broo-ha-ha, I actually thought it was fake! Fred, Revere Prepare your kids for some "shock" in life and these types of incidents won't carry much weight. Mike, Quincy A planned, desparate act by a has-been and inappropriate for the venue. Nothing will ever top the U2 halftime show 2 years ago and nothing can take away from the actual game and the greatness of this team. Louis, Nashua Kids did not need to see that at all! Jessica, Nashua, NH DIsgusting. No room for this during a football game which the family watches. I should not have to explain to my 9 year old daughter why the man ripped off her shirt and exposed her breast. I though I was safe watching the Super Bowl. Poor taste NFL and CBS. I will shut the half time show off next year! Bill Smith, Milford It's no big deal! It was not even 2 seconds. Remember a couple years ago when Brittney was out there in a cut up football jersey with probably no bra on at all? This was tame compared to her. And what was with Janet? She hasn't come out with a new song in years! Furthermore, If I were her I would never have been out in public never mind the superbowl with all the stuff surrounding her brother. Erin, Scituate, MA I don't know about anyone else...........but I was tuned in because of the game...............NOT the halftime show!!! (which wasn't very good)........from a washed up "P. Diddy".........to Kid Rock desecrating the American Flag by wearing it...........to Janet & Justin with need to shock instead of just entertaining. Her breast was revealed for less than a second.........I wasn't even sure what happened until I read about it today. I wanted to see the hit that Matt Chatham put on the streaker.........much more entertaining!! Rob, Wilbraham
Her breast was revealed for less than a second.........I wasn't even sure what happened until I read about it today. I wanted to see the hit that Matt Chatham put on the streaker.........much more entertaining!! Why, why does anyone need to see Janet Jackson's breast during the Super Bowl half time show. Her stunt is inappropriate but what else should we expect from the Jackson family? We, like a lot of parents, let our children stay up late to watch the big event. I don't think we are being closed minded Americans by thinking there are more responsible ways to teach kids about sexuality - it doesn' t have to be flashed across a TV screen! Christine, West Roxbury, Massachusetts The halftime show was simultaneously trivial and significant. This was a cheap stunt by a washed-up artist; whether this was an attempt to divert attention from her brother, or to re-ignite a stagnant career, it shows that this performer needs to do something other than singing to get some attention (and she could not even do that last night). Like him or not, at least Kid Rock actually performed live. The Hollywood establishment goes out of its way to citicize government about responsibility, but apparently cannot live by its own rules and behave for 15 short minutes for a performance at a venue they do not even belong. Whose bright idea was this anyway? Inviting attention-hungry entertainment personalities to compete with attention-hungry athletes who are already committed to another competition on the playing field? And the suits that thought this up expect things to go smoothly?!? What is probably most upsetting, is that American citizens are getting worked up over this relatively tame event, and not getting upset over all the other television programming that is truly ugly. Everyone is in a twist over allowing gay marriage, yet every major network carries at least one reality show which trivializes the institution of marriage beyond reason. C'mon people...... direct your energy where it really matters, and in the mean time, have fun watching Janet and Justin make fools of themselves. Steve, Boston

BAN MTV from all future Superbowls Time has come for a Jackson free zone in entertainment. And A Justin free zone as well. I had the opportunity to watch the Superbowl with my 10 year old nephew and his friends. Fortunately, he and his friends went outside to play football in the snow at halftime. My 13 year old niece remarked what was seen on television was disgusting. Timberlake and Jackson insulted the good will of viewers around the world. What they did by their grossly immodest act was a disgrace to all the good work people like the Krafts do to build a loyal following. On WEEI, when I was driving back last night, the gentlemen remarked, "this ought to let Superbowl sponsors clearly know that MTV has no place in the halftime shows. There were denials issued by Timberlake last night but they cannot be accepted. However this embarrassing immodest stunt was cooked up, it is a digusting disgrace. The act is a reflection of a total lack of civility which reflects the worst of a generation's descent to insensitivity and increase of narcissistic need for attention. Time for Superbowl Mgmt to bring in entertainers who appeal to our higher instincts... Sincerely, David E. Dowd David E.
