Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

A pathetic; totally unappropriate and unnessary display which denagrates society and humanity. People stop buying tickets and CDs to any so called entertainer who disply such a total disregard of America and it's people.

I am not a prude, but this was not the time, place, or event to pull a stunt like this. You can't tell me this wasn't planned! God bless the Jackson's for always keeping us entertained. It just too bad that the entertainment always has to be in the form of shocking news vs. good clean music.

P.S. the FCC ought to have a field day handing out fines to MTV and CBS - And with good reason!

John, Bedford

I thought it looked so silly when Justin ripped off the breastplate & one lone boob just flopped out. What a ridiculous stunt. If Janet is trying to use her body to get attention why not do something actually sexy? Guys can watch Girls Gone Wild for this sort of amatuerish ridiculousness.

People- stop saying "Its just a breast". That's so tired. Come up with a better arguement for exposing unwilling viewers to nudity. People still trying to hold on to traditional values and standards of decency have a lot of work to do- and Janet Jackson's breast on TV is the least of our problems.

Who cares, it wad only a breast. Stop whining people. Children see much worse. Stop coddling and sheltering your kids. We are raising a nation of whimps!!

Eric, Brighton

Definitely didn't go too far - we're just way too uptight in the US. The reason seeing a breast on TV is a big deal and we're all talking about it is because Big Brother said we can't see them. If the FCC wasn't making such a big deal of it, nobody would even notice.

I'm glad that happened, since overly-conservative Daimler-Chrysler pulled their sponsorship of the Bikini Bowl.

Let's face it - the Superbowl is targetted at a certain demographic - males 18-40. All of the ads reinforce this.

BTW - did anyone else get wood during the Ford GT commercial? Definitely one of the best shot, best sounding, most moving car ads EVER!

Bob, Taunton

Did two 30 second commercials about erectil dysfunction go too far?

Did an ad featuring a horse farting in a woman's face go too far?

American's need to get over their shame of female nudity.

CBS & MTV should be severely penalized for such a disgusting half-time show. What is it with the "Jackson Family"? Their time has passed. Don't give them anymore air time. I 'm sick of this disfunctional family. Enough! TV needs to get back to basic family values and stop pandering to these misfits.

Just because her career was sinking down the toilet, it's pretty pathetic for her bare herself on national TV in a feeble attempt to resurrect it.

any pathetic gesture designed to get publicity for has been is is always lame. who's on the roster for half time 2004, Taylor Dane?

erin, Arlington

I was at the game and the half time show was awful. Who wants to watch any of those untalented people. The best entertainment was Josh Grobin (excuse the spelling). Unfortunately tht was not shown. He had class, grace and a heavenly voice. True Talent.

David, Braintree, MA but was in Houston at the game
