Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

Took the SPOTLIGHT off Michael didn't it?

IHow can CBS and the NFL present a national sport that should appeal to viewers of all ages with the kind of overtly sexual nature of the half time outrageous content?

Over the last several years the NFL has gone to great measures to discourage unsportsmanlike behavior during the game and yet the half time show concludes with the song lyrics ."I'm gonna have you naked by the end of this song."

While apologies are being made after the fact some one must have been aware that something was going to happen since it was noted that Jackson's choreographer had told an MTV interviewer to expect "some shocking moments" during the performance of "Rock Your Body."

If Jackson claims that the costume malfunctioned, what was the intended effect?

The lyric would suggest that Justin intended to disrobe her literally or figuratively.

Janet.s dance team was dressed like the characters from .A Clockwork Orange. who were gang members who routinely raped and beat innocent people.

My children were watching this game! My 11 year old daughter was stunned. Is this acceptable behavior for boys towards girls? To assault them?

I hope that further action is taken against the parties responsible for this disgraceful event to ensure that this never happens again.

If 18-25 year old men are the target audience than I think we'd rather see more football than the sideshows of the super bowl. The Janet and JT stunt was sad but more offensive to one's sense of quality enterainment than to anyone's sense of morals. She showed no more than Lil Kim at an awards show not long ago.

Janet Jackson is a has been who had no reason performing at the Super Bowl. She deserves a spot on the next season of "The Surreal Life", right next to fellow has beens Richard Marx and Kurt Cameron.

I'm getting sick and tired of this type of filth on TV. No wonder our kids are so screwed up. What do you expect from MTV.

First let me say thank god for freedom of speech.

What did we all expect with MTV putting on the half-time show. I think MTV should be banned from the air. They are a terrible influence on young kids. Now they go and bring that crap to the Super Bowl. I'm disgusted! Maybe if everyone groups together and turns off MTV instead of tuning in, they won't be around any longer.

Totally unacceptable. The Super Bowl should not be an event that is inappropriate for my children to watch or my mother. The bared breast hopefully will be the straw that broke the camel's back to shame CBS/MTV/AOL to clean up their collective acts.

There were lots of children watching as well as people from around the world who wouldn't appreciate that rubbish. Keep it on MTV and not lower the standards of the Super Bowl.

The hip-hop entertainment culture has gone too far. I have two words for the whole lot of them.....NO CLASS!!! Anyone who thinks that Jackson stunt was unplanned is naive or just plain stupid. With all the money these entertainers spend on costuming, do you think her 'boob cover' could have so easily been ripped off?? Oh, and yeah, she would have been wearing a pasty underneath. Gimme a break!

Enough of the "freedom" crap. The people who think that this is America, we've all seen boobies before obviously don't have children or let their children view trash like that. While sitting in the room watching this show with my 8 year old son, my 10-12 year old nieces and nephews, watching their "udder" astonishment, I realized that they have better morals than any adult who enjoyed or agreed with this. Boy, Janet Jackson was right when she said there was going to be a big surprise and a surprise guest. Obviously the surprise guest was her right breast.... If she was doing this to try to take some of the spotlight away from her brother, she only made it more obvious the family is nuts...
