Jackson bares breast during half time show

Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far?

There was a halftime show???? Who watches that!

Up until that point, I thought the half time show was okay. But, I wasn't thrilled to see that with my 6 year old , 8 year old nephew and my 78 year old mother present. I guess that's what Janet's special surprise was huh...

It's the height of hypocrisy to make such an issue of this non-event. The media, the NFL and advertisers have no problem exploiting women, but "whoa," a nanosecond of areola and you'd think a joint meeting of NOW and the Souther Baptist Church had convened. Here we go again. Like the Brandi Chastain "controversy" after the US women won the World Cup several years ago (what was the big friggin' deal about seeing a woman in a jog bra?), the media will spend far too much time on this, and the NFL and CBS will cry foul despite their own testosterone-charged, gender-divisive garbage, as if they alone hold the magic formula as to "how far is too far." I am more angered, as the father of a four-old daughter, by the beer and car commercials whose vapid, sexist content and imagery is far more damaging to the psychosocial development of children, both boys and girls, than is a nipple.

Janet's exposed breast was the best part of the half time show.

It was planned, not an accident. She had a pasty on. If it wasn't planned, then why was she prepared? Frankly, the whole show was inappropriate. The audience isn't only made up of 18-25 year old males. Lots of kids watch, too. Nelly grabbing and rubbing his crotch, Kid Rock desecrating the Stars and Bars, and Janet with her S&M peep show (while giving contradictory "just say no" messages) just show that pop culture has nothing but sex to offer. How base. How sad. How inappropriate. And to show a Van Helsing commercial around 7pm with monsters?! I know of several families who had to deal with little ones with nightmares because of that showing. Why not wait until late to show it? Now the Super Bowl has to carry an MT rating for violence, sex, and language...

I was absolutely stunded! I had a house full of people watching this game, including lots of children. I am now so convinced that this younger generation of entertainers is totally classless! I am only 44, but I am a parent. The entertainment business has forgotten that there was once something called "FAMILY VALUES", which I still incorporate in my home. If it is not the classless Britney and Madona making out on stage, it is now Justin and Janet. Quite frankley, I am sick at what our world has allowed to be acceptable today. I fear what will become the future for our children.

i thought it was the most disgusting half-time show ever, it was embarrassing to America. Not only the Janet Jackson thing but the whole show, the crotch grabbing- the music-

the whole thing was disgusting

The half-time show was lame enough without Janet flashing everyone. I guess she felt that she needed to give people something to talk about, it sure wasn't going to be her "music". I wonder if Michael paid off Timberlake so that the focus would be on Janet's antics instead of his???

What a PIG! It was totally unnecessay. This is a family sport, this game was really a great game, and she and Justin, blew it. She should be fined, and banned from any other sports events. She is acting like her brother. Shame on you Janet. Thank you Patriots, for bring diginity back to the game. The half time show is a waste of time, from now on.

Gee...I guess all the young boys that saw Justin rip off Janet's clothes probably though it was cool. How soon until one of them pulls that stunt in the hall at high school. Then the kid can say hey I saw Justin do it, so it must be OK...
