Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 63 Why do Americans care so much more about showing nudity on television compared to the amount of graphic violence we broadcast? So it's a naked breast - BIG DEAL. allibabaloo, Boston I thought the halftime show was terrible whats the point of having 7 different acts when they all are lipsynching (BADLY) and need talent. I wouldve seen less skin had I paid for the lingerie bowl. The sad thing is that U2 supposedly offered to play and for free and CBS turned them down because they didn’t want U2 to talk about AIDS in Africa because it wasn’t appropriate. CBS also wouldn’t show the Moveon.org add because it was political, but it would show halftime and ads for erectile dysfunction (it seemed Nelly was having some of his own dysfunction). They have a weird sense of what is appropriate. Harvey, brookline I am more shocked at the "I didn't mean to rip her leather outfit" thing than I was at the actual action. Janet Jackson was wearing a pastie - meaning she fully intended to show it, eventually! Pasties aren't your standard undergarment - women don't wear pasties just in case they might expose themselves. Puh-leeze. It was all planned, and it was really offensive. All I could think about was my little nieces watching the show - along with millions of other kids whose parents are big football fans and who were watching the show just to have some fun last night. It was selfish and rude, really rude, and neither Janet nor Justin should get any more "exposure" from it than they've already created for themselves. Katie, Framingham I guess the press release should have said surprise breast, not guest, would be added to the halftime show!! Bob, Newton I sure like to dunk her oreo into my milk. Yum Yum. Jim, Cambridge, MA Janet's split-second "exposure" was no more graphic than the rest of the halftime show -- not a big deal, in my opinion. What was more disturbing was Kid Rock's overt disrespect for our flag. NowI like Kid Rock's music, but in light of the hundreds of thousands of Americans who have died in service to what that flag represents, that any American citizen would parade around on national television wearing what appears to be no more than a flag with a hole cut out for his head is outrageous! Would we have tolerated this two years ago?! John, Bedford you know what i hate people you are so think headed its not even right. It was alive show so dont go blaming any one but your self cause you could have changed the channel so really if you kids did see it to bad thats how your world is if you dont like it to bad get over it and move on with your life its not to hard trust i have a 3 year old son and i have no problem with the halftime show maybe cause a teenager but really if you think about it wasnt that bad so there peace out becka, willimantic,ct you know what i hate people you are so think headed its not even right. Both of them have been class acts (as pop-stars go), so I don't see any reason not to believe them here. Accidents happen. Rich, Allston It is amusing to me to see so many people upset as if this was the first time their children had been exposed to anything sexual or unsuitable. As far as I am concerned, it was a great show. The same parents who are all upset are the same parents that take their children to see terminator films. And as if the Superbowl has never used sexual exploitation to attract viewers...weren't those half naked cheerleaders prancing on the field. I suppoes many parents were covering their children's eyes when they were performing.
