Jackson bares breast during half time show
Pop superstar Janet Jackson lost her chest plate during her Super Bowl XXXVIII half time performance, giving football fans an unexpected peep show. It appeared as though singer Justin Timberlake ripped it off as part of the show, revealing Jackson's right breast with a silver star on it. Did someone go too far? Page 8 I've been a Janet Jackson fan for years, since her Control days. I was very excited to hear that she would be performing at the Halftime Show; that excitement, however, was quickly doused with a lukewarm performance on her part. She's a great dancer, a mediocre singer, and usually a phenomenal performer and entertainer when taken as a whole. Unfortunately, this act smacked of desperation. It was similar to what Madonna did with the Britney/Christina kiss. I had hoped that Janet would rise above pure sensationalism and just prove her relevancy with her considerable skill. Unfortunately, she didn't. Anthony, Boston It was a BOOB! Oh my God! Grow up people. She look assaulted by Timerlake to me. Half Time show was the WORST EVER!! KId Rock and his abuse of the Flag should have people more outraged. Nelly and P. Whatever his name is this month sucked. Which is worse, however: An exposed boob or all those commercials about penises and the lack of functionality? Easier to explain a boob to a child and "What is Viagra for?" Philip, Milton It was part of the show regardless of whjat is said and for that matter the cameras were too far away and she had covered up the nipplewith something. Just another reason for the ultra conservative folks to complain about.. Sorry John Denver is dead and who the hell wants to listen to some yesteryear crap ULTRA-Liberal , Conservative-ville, MA Although, I thought the halftime show was pretty bad, all the songs were so old... Come on Rythm Nation hello 1989.. The breast thing was not that bad it was odd, especially where Janet and Justin once had a fling... And for them to say that it was an accident.. PLEASE you can't rip somthing like that... Jesslyn Delaney, Boston I thought the whole half-time show was out of line. Super Bowl Sunday is a party day, I'm sure there were a great deal of families watching. The crotch grabbing, and screamimg music should be left for MTV and not on CBS at 8:30 at night. Too many youg children watched that. What will parents say when their child starts imitating the half-time show and walk around grabbin their crotch? Bring back the marching bands or at least decent entertainment.!! Nancy, Marlborough If you can't realize that the half-time show was a disgrace then you have already become a part of the decay of American pop, and it's American delusion for children of "I just want to be rich like MTV and have no morals." This MTV halftime just doesn't belong on such a worldly event. If you want to see this, fine, go to MTV and watch it--I'm not saying it shouldn't exist. But for most of the world, and all generations, we should not have had to watch such American trash. I'm 28 and confident I understand what's decent and what's not for a world audience. Shame on you CBS thinking that MTV would produce anything better. James, Boston Great Game, lousy halftime. You couldn't even understand anyone. Dick E., Foxboro CBS should be fined for allowing this ridiculous display to be aired during a family sporting event. It was a headline "grabbing" stunt that demeans each and everyone one us. John MacDonald, Foxborough If you want to see real halftime entertainment then review the Super Bowl CD from the Pat's first Championship in 2002. U2 elevated the whole halftime experience. The singing was great and the message was poignant. Classy and appealing and still very entertaining. pm, boston I thought the entire half time show was absolutely tasteless. From Kid Rock wearing an American Flag to Janet's incident with her costume. Please explain to me how you have a costume malfunction. That was done on purpose and I was mortified. My small children were with us watching the game, and to try to explain this incident was embarressing. Why would anyone hire MTV to do a family half time show??
