The voodoo that you do

Athletes are a superstitious lot. Wade Boggs ate only chicken during hitting streaks. Nomar won't step on the foul lines when running on or off the field. Larry Joe stared at Bobby Orr's No. 4 hanging from the rafters during the national anthem of every home game.

Fans can be just as bad. Some of you will wear the same sweatshirt, watch the game with the same people, and serve the same food as you did two years ago when the Pats won the Super Bowl. Or maybe you have certain rituals you'll follow on the day of the big game: Church, followed by Dunkin's, the Sunday sports section, then the couch.

How about you? Are you superstitious? What patterns, rituals, or other crazy things are you going to do tomorrow to ensure that the Pats will declaw the Cats? And thanks to Andrew of New Britain, Conn., for the idea.

There will be a new Top 10 list every day.

I've worn the same Patriots T-shirt every Sunday this season while watching the Pats (thanks to DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket). I'll definitely be wearing it for the Super Bowl.

Go Pats!

Mike Giordano, Alpharetta, GA

While watching super bowl XXXVI I had a large world globe on the top of my tv set with the patriots football cap on top of the world [globe] I will do the same on this super bowl sunday. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL XXXVIII CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!

hoody, columbus,ga

I am wearing my AFC champs t-shirt under my #12 Patriots jersey. I will wear Red/white & blue boxers with a pair of red and white wool socks. (the socks will have no affiliation with the Boston Red Sox - no bad karma). Along with a few prayers in church to seal the deal.

My brothers and I will be watching the game at "Sierra's" in Gorham, ME. The last time we saw them lose a game there was the first St. Louis game 2 years ago. Maybe if we had gone there a few more times last year we'd be looking at a threepeat!

Scot , Gorham, ME

My ritual is to leave the Chistmas Tree up through the Season. It won't come down until the superbowl is won.

I light it up and place the Pats

AFC Championship Hat on the top of the tree.

Raymond , Kissimmee,FL

It's not the ritual beforehand , but actions during the game, that count for the fan. When the Colts were threatening in the AFC championship game I realized all the women in the room had changed seats from where they were in the first half, when the Patriots were in full command. I made all the women return to their original places and the Pats regained control and went on to win!

I will sit in the EXACT same spot, eat the EXACT same things and wear the EXACT same clothes that I wore for both playoff games!!!

I LOVE to watch this team play football!!!!!

I've been wearing the same Pats PJ Bottoms for the last 5 games, and you know I'll be wearing them again tomorrow!! I've got my Tom Brady superbowlXXXVI All Star T-shirt goin on under my Navy blue Brady Jersey, with my Pats Blanket and Patriots Sweatshirt from the last superbowl. As Always, my hair will be in a lot of braids, because braids are lucky!!! :) I'll also be wearin my blue slippers, because i've worn them ever since the third game, ironically. I've worn them every game we've won this year, and they're DEFINATELY goin on tomorrow! :D GO PATS!!!

Since I live in Chicago and I will be surrounded by disgruntled Chicago sports fans, I'm going make everyone a Pats fan for a day. I have about 15 t-shirts, jerseys, hats, and other Pats paraphonelia, I'm bringing them all and making each person where one of them. And I took monday off for a day of celebration and recovery, I hope it's not a day of grieving. Plus, I talked so much smack this week they have to back it up for me!!!!

Bones, Chicago
