Throwing some wood on the hot stove

Have you heard the latest buzz about the seemingly dead Manny-for-A-Rod, Nomar-for-Ordonez blockbuster deal? According to several fan message boards, including sonsofsamhorn.com and bostondirtdogs.com, the official team sites of the Red Sox, Rangers, and White Sox all changed their flags at the top of their sites within an hour of each other at about 2 a.m. today, removing images of the aforementioned players. Spooky! Conspiracy! What do you think is going on???

I think this proves that Tupac is still alive and well and Elvis was just seen at Stop and Shop in the produce department. No, it means people should be working harder at their jobs and less at who has been removed from a teams web site. This needs to once and for all be dropped. What's the next headline? AROD AND MAGS BOTH FLY OVER BOSTON ON THE SAME DAY- - TRADE IMMINENT! People get over it and be happy with Nomar and Manny.

I think that we'll be hearing something this week. I mean, I like David Ortiz and all, but is he a bigger superstar on this team than Nomar and Manny? That he is there in place of them is telling.

Hello A-Rod!

Bob, Mendon

I think it's purely coincidince. Most of the major league baseball teams changed their website banners within the last day, not just the teams involved in the A-Rod trade. Although, the way things have been going, nothing would surprise me at this point.

This deal was NEVER "dead." A-Rod wants it, Selig wants it, Hicks wants it (after shooting himself in the foot), Boston wants it. The catalyst isn't Manny, it's Arn Tellem. Speaking on behalf of Nomar's wallet, Garciaparra does NOT want to stay in Boston, protestations to the contrary aside. Nomar will join the Fred Lynn/Mo Vaughn club, and ply his increasing clutch futility out West. Baseball management will have the class (unlike Pete Rose) to wait a while and let Eck have his day in the sun. A-Rod is coming. Even if it means luxury tax.

Let's see. Its early January, Red Sox Nation has been blustering with activity this winter. That is until the last few weeks. WE NEED SOMETHING, ANYTHING!!!! What better way for us to rekindle the juices than come up with a conspiracy like this one. I can hear the phone ringing in my Milwaukee home from other Red Sox Nation members. My inbox will be full with messages like, "ITS ON, NOMAH MITE BE GONE" or "AROD IS COMING, AROD IS COMING". I LOVE IT!!!!

Hey Amy, welcome the Hot Stove capital of the world... And who is sick of the Red Sox? Maybe you are, but did you happen to notice how all of New England held a collective breath for 2 weeks this past October? Yes, the Patriots are great this year, I'm behind them.... but I want a Red Sox World Series!!! Bring on A-Rod!!!!!!!! (Changing the flags means nothing, I'll believe it when I'm watching a 1:00pm NESN press conference announcing the deal...)
