Throwing some wood on the hot stove

Have you heard the latest buzz about the seemingly dead Manny-for-A-Rod, Nomar-for-Ordonez blockbuster deal? According to several fan message boards, including sonsofsamhorn.com and bostondirtdogs.com, the official team sites of the Red Sox, Rangers, and White Sox all changed their flags at the top of their sites within an hour of each other at about 2 a.m. today, removing images of the aforementioned players. Spooky! Conspiracy! What do you think is going on???

I heard from a reliable source that the deal is officially done, but an announcement won't be made until Saturday at 8:15pm

GO PATS!

I'm sick of crybabies. Lets get some guys that want to play here. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Hope rises eternal. Hope the trades go through. Alex is suffering but talking a brave fight to make it work with the Rangers according to the Miami Herald. Alex lives here. Alex is rebuilding a baseball stadium in Miami spending 3.5 million of the 7 million cost. He is building other things for children. A-Rod is a great giver and model for other millionaire ball players. He went to a Christian High School, Westminster High in Miami.

Please let it go............ let it go..... Although after watching the Cowboy Up DVD, getting rid of Manny would be a bad thing! A kid in a man's body!

Rick, Wallingford

I think the deal is still alive. I would love to see A-Rod come to Boston. Nomar does not want to re-sign anyway. Manny is a bum.

believe it when i see it

I don't think that boston.com, a legitimate news source, should be putting absolute speculation in a spot usually reserved for breaking news. It's nothing. No, it's less than nothing... this is just the same as 3 weeks ago before the deal was "dead". I suggest we just drop the whole thing and focus on the 2004 sox the way they are. Or maybe we could focus on that other team from New England, I think the one that plays football occaisonally?

Scott, Pepperell

Changed their flags?!?! What is a web site flag?!?!? Do you mean to say the top banner graphic? Or the navigation bar graphic? Flags fly on poles, not on web sites... Spooky? Consipiracy? I hope boston.com doesn't go the way of tabloid news reporting, ala bostonherald.com and Fox TV. Boo!!!!
