Throwing some wood on the hot stove

Have you heard the latest buzz about the seemingly dead Manny-for-A-Rod, Nomar-for-Ordonez blockbuster deal? According to several fan message boards, including sonsofsamhorn.com and bostondirtdogs.com, the official team sites of the Red Sox, Rangers, and White Sox all changed their flags at the top of their sites within an hour of each other at about 2 a.m. today, removing images of the aforementioned players. Spooky! Conspiracy! What do you think is going on???

I don't know what flag some of you are looking at, but the one I saw earlier today and a few moments ago had Pedro, Wakefield, Ortiz and Schillig on it. The Rangers and White Sox have no players on theirs. Still doesn't make me believe anything is going down. Lets place our attention on the Pats instead of grasping at rediculous thoughts from idiots who have nothing better to do than watch teams websites for slight changes all day long

Now I'm not sure about the other site but I know for a fact that the official redsox site changes there pictures ie the redsox roster picture! But I've never seen them remove Nomar or Manny off the roster picture. I can also tell you the logo of redsox official site just changed a few days ago so it's pretty safe to assume the roster picture got changed the same time! Now I'm not saying a trade will happen(I originially thought the trade was a given after Millar ran his mouth about preffering A-Rod. I pretty sure the changes to all those sites is more than a fluke. Now someone could have gotten a hold of false info or the sites took them off hoping to end the trade rumor(You know remove the players photos so noone talks about them again), but my hope is this is a sign the deal is getting done!

if you want to add to the conspiracy theory or spooky factor then you can also look at the bosox site and see the poll at the bottom where it asks who will make the largest contribution...nomar and manny are nowhere to be found...pedro's there though... but at best this is more likely work picked up after the holidays and since they're all mlb sites was probably done by the same person not the individual teams.... all in all it's definitely not news that should be reported on a reputable newspaper site.

I think..who cares anymore. I like the Red Sox, I would even like to have seen the deal go down. But hey its time for some football!!!! Lets all support the Pats and stop with the Sox 24/7 GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie, Boston

I think the people leaving those messages have been eating funny mushrooms. As of 4 pm, Wed., 1/7, Manny, Nomar and Pedro are on top of the Red Sox page.

All the brass (and the players) have been suspiciously quiet about the whole thing since before Christmas. The fact that nobody is talking means to me they are working on a deal and nobody is allowed to talk about it until it is done.......

All MLB sites changed at 2am. Get over it, it is not gonna happen!!

At first I thought it was nothing...but now, after I've thought about it, I think it's a conspiracy theory somehow connecting Theo to the slaying of the Kennedys... GO PATS!!!

just another attempt by the sox to steal the patriots' thunder...stupid thunder stealers.

Henry came out said for us to move on....he claims the deal is dead.....why did they change the flag up top?......it could be to shift away our focus from them.......and to draw attention somwhere else....just a guess.
