Have you heard the latest buzz about the seemingly dead Manny-for-A-Rod, Nomar-for-Ordonez blockbuster deal? According to several fan message boards, including sonsofsamhorn.com and bostondirtdogs.com, the official team sites of the Red Sox, Rangers, and White Sox all changed their flags at the top of their sites within an hour of each other at about 2 a.m. today, removing images of the aforementioned players. Spooky! Conspiracy! What do you think is going on???
Page 5 There is nothing going on. Just imaginative minds going wild. John , Foxborough I think it was just a MLB change that was done by one person for several team's sites! I don't think that Henry, Hicks, and the Chicago owner were up writing website code late last night as part of their secret meetings! "JH, it's Tom, how do you program flash?" IrishPint, Newburyport, MA On again, off again, on again, off again, on again, off again, on again... Enough is enough! Let's focus on the 14-2 Patriots, and maybe all of this Red Sox-Rangers garbage will just go away. Gerhard , Sanford, Maine Not sure but www.bostondirtdogs.com is a little unreliable to me since they announced that we signed ARod before the "evil" Gene Orza popped our baloon. www.sonsofsamhorn.com is a little more reliable. Eric, Boston sounds like a great plan to me pat , cambridge Dahh, these sites are essentially 1 site controlled by who? MLB. My guess would be all the teams banners were updated last night. This is not weird. common sense. -Bryan Bryan, lowell First of all, it hasn't been confirmed that the mastheads on the White Sox or Rangers' websites EVER had their respective players. Given both of their generic ballpark-image mastheads, I suspect the players never were there. This leaves the redsox.com masthead, which definitely was changed. If a deal was *secretly* worked out, there must be a reason for the secrecy--there's no way the Red Sox would make such a silly mistake as to hint to it on their website. I suspect that the masthead was changed to reflect the current excitement of the team--that is, the revised and improved pitching staff and Ortiz, the surprising key up-and-comer from last season. Justin, Newton I think this is a GO! It is about time we have Nomar his walking papers! HELLO A-ROD! Ozzie, North Adams I think people have WAY to much time to even notice these things... Brian, Boston I think it is just coincidence. Michael , Norwood, MA
