Have you heard the latest buzz about the seemingly dead Manny-for-A-Rod, Nomar-for-Ordonez blockbuster deal? According to several fan message boards, including sonsofsamhorn.com and bostondirtdogs.com, the official team sites of the Red Sox, Rangers, and White Sox all changed their flags at the top of their sites within an hour of each other at about 2 a.m. today, removing images of the aforementioned players. Spooky! Conspiracy! What do you think is going on???

and now you can't get on any team's messages board. i usually check them periodically. this morning there was some talk about ithe change in logo and pictures and a lot of speculation on the redsox.com board, but now all of the teams boards are shut down.

The Rangers and White Sox have no such banner on their sites. The Red Sox do and Manny and Nomar, along with Petey, are the ONLY players on this banner. This is as of 1pm. I am surprised to hear that folks would talk it up so much without checking. I suppose it is possible that the Soxes and Rangers are monitoring these boards and decided to change it back. But somehow I think it is more likely just more fanning of the flames. Relax, Pitchers and Catchers report in a little more than a month.
