If you're walking on air today, you're not alone in Red Sox Nation. The Sox took six of seven games from the Yankees over the last 10 days, not exactly payback for last season's playoff ouster, but certainly a good start. Do you have a message to all those Yankees fans who spent all of last October gloating? Drop us a note and we'll post a top 10 list at the end of the day, and please, resist the urge to use profanity!
Page 3 this IS the year Tony, Everettt Simply wonderful. I wore my sox cap and Manny t-shirt with pride here in Hideki Matsui-land! I watched all three games live. SLEEP DEPRIVED but happy. Sox should win 98 games this season. Can't wait for Nomar, Nixon and Kim to come back. Barry, Kobe, Japan This is just the beginning of what will be a trend for the entire season. The Red Sox will win the east this year, no question. The only question is who does Steinbrenner fire first. Tim, herndon, va I think that's it great that the Sox swept the Yankees! The Red Sox are a much better team than the Yankees. The Yankees have no pitching. There only hope is to outscore their opponets. This year the Sox have both pitching and hitting. Look for the Red Sox to go all the way this year! (Really) Place your orders for the Red Sox 2004 World Series champions shirts!!! Timothy, Roxboro, NC A fitting end to a fabulous weekend for the Red Sox - Steinbrenner probably won't sleep tonight. There is a lot of talk about his huge payroll, but we shoudn't forget about the insatiable greed of our own bunch of free agents to be, who would have the Red Sox payroll as high or higher next year if they could. Jason, Farmington, NH I'm a transplanted New Englander living amonst the Yankee-fan heathens in upstate New York. It will be such a pleasure going to work tomorrow. Finally, I can commiserate with the enemy, saying, "Don't worry, it's only April. You guys are bound to win some games sometime!" Colin, Schenectady, NY I think the redsox are off to a great start, yes it's only april and its early in the season, but it still feels good, every game counts Especially with the sox, look at it this way, last year we where 9 and 10 against the yankees and where already up to 6, like i said, i know it's early, but it is looking good for us, never mind the fact that we have the best bullpen in all of baseball right now, ''we still Believe'' chris, warwick as a red sox fan, living in new york, things can often times get a bit dicey. i suppose this is a repayment to the harassment that the yankees and yankees fan receive at fenway, i was a recipient of much 'chiding' from several attendees of this past's friday’s game which the sox took at a commanding 7-2. walking into yankee stadium, i was pleasantly surprised to see many of my compatriots in attendance. i myself donned an official red sox cap and new england patriots t-shirt. myself and 4 others in my group (which i was the only sox fan, the rest: fans of the yanks) were seated in the center field bleachers. not the best seats in the house, but pretty good to see those hr's hit by millar, bellhorn and mueller, and ramirez. back to being a recipient of being a visible sox fan: upon entering yankee stadium, there was a group of 8 or so young boys, probably around 8 or 9 years old, chanting '1918.' i guess, they start the red sox hate early around there! i mentioned that how realistically, even though the yankees have won 26 world championships, they're are not the end-all, be-all, in my opinion. one boy misspoke and said the best thing about the red sox was 'mariano' ramirez and i of course corrected him informing the confused youth that his first name in fact was manny. he probably remembered that after mr. ramirez hit out a home run that night, and on sunday. clearly, not only is the best drama is the yankees/red sox rivalry, those teams are the most competitive against each other, if not in all of baseball. and this weekend series will hopefully have been a preview of an october championship for the red sox. dave , new york city, ny Great weekend, but we did not play the Yankees. We played their clueless cousins. The Yankees will show up eventually. And when they go on a tear it will be back to the same ol' same ol'. So I am enjoying the moment with caution. LARRY in N.H. Larry, Auburn,New Hampshire Famous last words from Boston Rob - Adios, arrivederchi, sayonara, or as we say in Boston - SEE YA LATA! B.L., Hudson MA
