If you're walking on air today, you're not alone in Red Sox Nation. The Sox took six of seven games from the Yankees over the last 10 days, not exactly payback for last season's playoff ouster, but certainly a good start. Do you have a message to all those Yankees fans who spent all of last October gloating? Drop us a note and we'll post a top 10 list at the end of the day, and please, resist the urge to use profanity!
Page 7 And if you don't behave, we are going to sell you losers John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, and rename your team the "Drunken flip-flops". Jeff, Boston You may have money but you ain't got heart! Lynne Webster, Abington, MA It appears Darth Vador cant find his bat. They will start hitting, but it could be each other. No chemistry. No matter, there pitching reminds me of the 64 Phillies. Curse this......... Bill , Sturbridge, Ma. Yankee fans have no class. Sure, they can cheer for their team when their winning, but they drop a few games (okay, 6!) to our Sox and they boo… Jeter of all people! Even I like that guy and I HATE THE YANKEES. I’ve said it all along, I don’t hate the Yankees nearly as much as I hate their cocky, fair-weather fans. Win or loose, we still LOVE OUR RED SOX!!! Money can buy Arod and the rest of them, but our team has heart you can’t put a pricetag on that. Paula, Boston don't worry boys, you're teams payroll will be up over $200,000,000 by mid may when George finally realizes that his pitching sucks. And one thing that I learned over the past several years watching the Yanks go to the world series almost each yr. Offense is nice, but pitching and defense wins championships. And these are 2 things your team lacks. Your entire right side of the infield is a liability and your centerfielder has lost more than a step or two.... It's downhill from here boys!!!!!! Remember those days in the 80's? Get ready, they're coming back! Bones, Chicago Yankee fans, I feel your pain. Correction, I felt your pain last fall. Today I feel GREAT! It was great hearing "LET'S GO RED SOX" in the House that Ruth Built. It was great seeing all those fair-weather-friends deserting your golden boys in their hour of need. It just goes to show that rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Microsoft. It's time to forget the past & look ahead...to the Red Sox winning the WS! I like that number 1918. 19 is the number of times the Sox play the Yanks in 2004 -- and we're gonna beat them 18 times! John, Amherst, MA It's only April, wait until September before you can say anything, George will get what he needs to win, yadda yadda yadda. When the Yanks are sitting out the postseason, I bet these April games will seem pretty important after all. Maureen M, Binghamton, NY The Red Sox have two excellent players on the DL in Nomar and Trot. Now, I know Yankees fans have a response for our three game sweep by saying "we're slumping and it's only April." I was at the Yankees game on Saturday and i overheard a Yankees fan state, "It's only April. You guys have peaked." I have news for New York. As a lineup we are slumping as well along with two of our best hitters on the DL. With our starting pitching looking very good, it will be hard for the Yankees to overtake us and beat us in October. THe Great Theo has put a great team together in the offseason, and he knows the additions of Foulke and Shilling will add reliability to an already decent pitching staff. When those two come off the DL, watch out Yankees fan because the Evil Empire is already being invaded by the New England natives with their Red Sox fury aimed directly at you! "This is the year"...if Pedro remains healthy, it should be! Dave, Danvers O.k. I am a Sox fan and all but its just April!!! Lets not get carried away. PeterS, Billerica To the Yankee fan who hit me in the back of the head with a box of Crunch'n Munch Friday night: Thanks, that was a full box! Not only did we take all three but Yankee fans were giving us free concessions! Awesome! Matty, Brooklyn, New York
