Pedro, Shut up and pitch!!! You have a contract for this year..don't you? You are being paid for this year..aren't you? You are playing for the best franchise and city in sports today. If you don't like it, go back to the Montreal Expos and play in front of 3,000 fans per night. Maybe then..you will finally be happy in life.

Derek, Naples, Florida

Pedro Martinez should just shut up and pitch to the best of his abilities. I have every confidence the Sox management will offer him a contract for what he is worth. However, it may not be even close to what he is making today and it shouldn't be.

Pedro is a great pitcher and at the same time a huge whinner. Our sons and daughters who lay there life on the line each day in Iraq are more of a concern to me than he is I only hope that the sox front office makes a deal for him and get's some young pitching prospects for him. Who cares if he goes to the Yankeess, I support the Sox team every year win or lose.Trade him soon so he does not become a cancer in the clubhouse and bring down the morale of the Sox. Move on Pedro, the Sox Nation will live another day.

This little whiner has been a problem for a couple of years now, and he's become a disruption. His arm is going, and he isn't worth the money or aggravation. With Schilling, Lowe, Wakefield, Kim and Arroyo on hand, they should move the little twerp now, let him be someone else's $17 million problem.

Pedro needs to shut his mouth and pitch. Take a lesson from the World Champion NE Patriots- no one man is better than the team. Pedro's stuff is diminishing every year....

Baseball is a team sport. Before Pedro even came here I read some of his negative comments, and was concerned back then that we were getting someone who could not be happy. I have faith in the new management team, they will get someone to replace Pedro. I say, "Let him go!" See the attitude Curt has? Tim Wakefield has always been a team player, we need more of that kind of attitude. Pedro is a big baby, and too fragile to be making so much noise.

Let Pedro Walk. I am a devout Red Sox Fan living in NYC and as much as I would hate to see him in pinstripes, I believe the Red Sox should go after 2 young pitchers to support Schilling. "Enough is enough Pedro, you can go now."

Sue , New York

I have to say enough is enough regarding all New England sports stars who attempt to use the media as a referendum on how many millions of dollars they deserve. Ty Law, Pedro, Nomar, Derek - I've had it with all of them. The supposed 'adults' play a child's game for a king's ransom with an infant's level of maturity. They are completely lacking in character and perspective yet they serve as role models and idols to be worshipped by millions. They receive a hero's welcome at every home game and hurl insults at their bosses who pay them more in one year that I will earn in 20 lifetimes. And still it's not enough for Pedro to have made over $90 million dollars over 7 years, he wants another $40 or 50 million guaranteed over 3 or 4 years. This at a time when unemployment is as high as it's been in 10 years. Ordinary people have received minimal raises over the past 4 years in spite of annual increases in productivity. And we have no guarantee that we will have a job next paycheck even if we do a great job and our company succeeds. Enough is enough, it's time for the Red Sox to adopt the Florida Marlins method of attracting great young players who are not interested and wringing every last dollar from the team and in spite of what's best for the team. They won the World Series last year and the entire team could be payed by the contracts of 4 or 5 Red Sox players. The Texas Ranges got rid of the worst contract in Baseball and now have the best record in baseball. This Pedro drama has been substantially more than enough.

AS A YANKEE FAN, GET READY SOX FANS TO EXPERIENCE FAILURE AGAIN. THE BOSS LIVES FOR THESE SITUATIONS. PEDRO IN PINSTRIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIKE, CHINO CA

I think Pedro is way out of line with his comments, especially calling the front office a bunch of "liars". He is making 17.5 million dollars this year and he claims the Red Sox offers are not suitable. Not suitable? He is a 6 or 7 inning pitcher, he makes about 34 starts a year: that is $500,000 a start. I am a public school teacher and I make about 1/2500 of that every day I teach. I am sick of him complaining. He is a great pitcher, but he is a whiner and a real pain in the ***.
