The Boston Red Sox do not need Pedro Martinez to win a World Series, nor do they need anyone else who cannot grasp the team concept. If the unfortunate situation occurs, a suggestion would be to see which teams would be interested in acquiring Pedro and review what the Sox could get in return. Meanwhile the focus should be on the season while taking mental notes about the players the team needs to sign. These players should be acknowledged for having a positive attitude and those who consider themselves part of the team FIRST like Varitek, Ortiz, Williamson, Garciparra, Lowe, etc. Until Pedro learns baseball is a team sport than he should not be allowed to participate with the team ala Terry Glenn or be handled in a similar respect like Lawyer Milloy or Ty Law. Unfortunately we're in the middle of the season and he can only do more harm if his egocentric attitude persists. Of the 4 though, I would like to keep Varitek. The others, especially Pedro, can all be gone. Maybe even trade Pedro by the break for some good young talent.
