For a player with such talent to have so little self esteem......bag him and get on with it!

Ok, let's start by saying that Pedro shouldn't be whining about money at all. I'm sorry but 17 million in a year and complaining about being 32 and having to work? Pedrob&you sound like you are desperate for money. Let's get him into a fast food establishment flipping burgers for $6.00 and hour. Just like most pro athletes he has really lost sight of what is important in life. Of coarse he can think whatever he wants and he can have his own opinions on every topic but so can we. He has every right to ask whatever he thinks heb worth but to come out like he did and make his feelings known is selfish and childish. Thatbl he had to say is he wanted to concentrate on the year and hebhe season is over. But thatb Instead he has to bring in everyone else on the team like Nomar, Tek and Lowe and try to make everyone get behind him; hebuser. Has Pedro all of a sudden started a new career as an agent? He should keep his mouth shut and play baseball. As far as unfairly raising questions about his shoulder? His shoulder is like a Waterford vase, great, but if it breaks itbetter than the piece of glass in the windshield of my car. Ib who question you Pedro but letbcts. You are saying that nothing is wrong with your shoulder but your fastball is about 3-5 miles an hour slower that last year and your ERA is 4.17. Why shouldnbquestions about your durability and your health? You are fragile and now your not even as good as you used to be. Is it all about the $$$$$ Pedro? How about winning a championship? Go back to a loosing team like Montreal, make your money, and become insignificant again. Itban sign another classy guy like Shilling or Wakefield.

Pedro...I hope you have a great year....if you do not....who would want you. I think you want to go to the Yankees.....they do not want you

He is a cry baby. There are so many people in MA that are unemployed and making just $8.00 per hour just to get by, why should we feel bad about his salary. I for one don't have the extra money to buy a RedSox ticket. So to you Pedro I say if you can't live on what you make now maybe you should try and live on what the unemployed make.

I think Pedro is a great pitcher but enough is enough. How much money does it take to buy a players loyalty. We saw in Seattle and again in Texas how there is life after a gazillionaire player is dealt away. If letting pedro go can enable us to sign Tek and Ortiz both, we should go for it. I say trade him so we can at least get something for him and possibly keep him out of Pin Stripes.

too all the sox fans that are worried about pedro going to the yanks, fear not. anybody can see that he's pretty much washed up. not even steinbrenner is stupid enough to give martinez the money he's asking. and even if he is, it would look good on him for going after this washed-up prima donna

I'm a huge Sox fan and Pedro fan, but enough is enough!! He's so damn selfish!!!! He does'nt know nor does he care about the team concept. He should just shut the *%^& up and do his job!! Rick

Ownership probably would like nothing better than to trim salary down to 70-80 million and then increase ticket prices again. They made more money on tix for the ninth straight year, and unlike the Yankees, make money from the food and beer concessions at the park. Sign not just Pedro, but D-Lo, Nomar, and Varitek. I'm not interested in the statistic of "owner making most money from team."

Red Sox Conspiracy Theory: bconspiring to lose for the past 86 years just to make money?? Losing great player after great playerb&never giving them the money needed to win a championship. They play the city of Boston like fools, knowing once a player mentions he wants more moneyb&the hard working citizens of Boston will turn on them like a pitbull on a steakb&.then poof hebayers who are never bs is the Yearbuffer thru your 30bthen taking your kids for their first fun filled $500 family day at the park. In 14 years youbtake your pre-teen son to any game you can just to chance being there for the turning point in the 2018 seasonb&you and the rest of the city will be convinced the curse HAS to be overb&.finallyb&.maybe???? My prediction: Theybmuch in the team as you did for your wedding or first homeb&and its welcome to your 40bFan! Congratulations, youbarents!!! Your hurt and disappointment, will dissolve over the winter and there you are on opening day 101 years laterb&.thinkingb&the curse is over, THIS is the year!! Itbut you have to wonder if itbevil little thing called capitalism.
