shut up and pitch

I spent $24 apiece and drove six hours to see Thursday night's game against the Devil Rays. Sat up in nosebleed section in right field, behind a pole, where we couldn't see the mound or home plate. A Sox fan since the 60s, I'm willing to pay, but this has gone beyond stupid.Let him earn 17.5 big ones by actually being one of the best pitchers in the game, and if he goes elsewhere, so be it.

I cannot take his crap anymore. I never liked his antics but you put up with them because he WAS the best. Well he ain't so hot anymore and he won't shut his stupid trap. I would love to see this ownership stand up to him. But of corse there as sad as Pedro is they want nothing more than to win the series and dump the payroll and the team. We the fans are suffering but they will just do what they want becasue we will sell-out the ball park. we will cheer for the biggest baby in sports that I can remember. We will buy a film about a season that we again did not win it. We will sit on top of the pru and pay 500.00 dollars a seat and say this awesome look at the improvements to the park. Its the Jacobs theory ' F the sox there losers and so arn't we fopr routing for them. Lets go Pats

Pedro is not the physical guru Roger Clemens is. He'll be out of baseball in 5 years and his effectiveness will gradually decline until then. I would not sign him beyond 2 years (and even then for no more than $25 million). I'm sure Pedro is looking for at least 3 or 4. So, let him go. Varitek, Garciaparra & Ortiz should be bigger priorities. If the Yankees are willing to overpay Pedro for 4 years, they'd do the Red Sox a huge favor.

Pedro's making threats to go to another team leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Let's see how much Steinbrenner will respect him!

Pedro always attacks when he feels the most vulnerable. he throws at people when he his stuff is not sharp and he lashes out at the clup when he doesnt' feel so healthy. So I deduct that that the money should be spent elsewhere come next year. I hate to say it, because i want him on our team. But we have had plenty of Cy Young winners over the last 86 years - I want a World Series championship more than braggin rights on one particular player - retiring as a Red Sock. He should want to stay here and act in a way that will help work something out. The Sox did with the premature decision on his option year - they should have a little money in the bank with Pedro, but the Sox get nothing for the decision. Better pitch well either way Pedro - we got ya for this year at least.

I think that if he is going to have a "dominant" mouth, he better be more of a "dominent" pitcher!!! And it seems to me that if he was a team player, he wouldn't have voiced his opinions like that. What happen to "a Pedro spokesman said". Now he will talk to the press, and then states after his outing of Saturday that he will speak to the press as long as it is baseball related??!!??! Obviously he hasn't learned much here over the years. As the ole saying goes, Put up or Shut up Pedro, remember the "team" is what should matter right now!!

He definately crossed the line this time. Pedro should just shut up and pitch. With minor leaguers Jon Garon and Mike Lydon making excellent progress, the Sox will have no shortage of arms next season.

I think I speak for all YANKEE FANS when I say you can keep PEDRO!!!!!
