Pedro Martinez, in comments to the media, Friday declared "enough is enough" and closed the door on contract negotiations with the Sox, saying he will enter free agency after the season.

All of the sudden Pedro is nothing to Red Sox nation. But when it comes to postseason we all want him on the mound. Pedro can still pitch and I'm sick of hearing about his shoulder. Let's not forget Mr. Clemens whom we let go because we thought he was done... This will be another scenario if he goes.

I used to be a Pedro fan , but no longer. He's what's wrong about ballplayers-me first and the team be damned. I think he's a sullen, egomaniac who only cares about himself. I would never give him another big contract with his attitude and chip on his shoulder. He left a game early as if he didn't know it was wrong. He should be a team leader but he's anything but. Let him,walk and get someone with a better attitude who is a leader for next year!

I was born in MA, and grew up with the Sox. I am 37 this year. Feel like had enough with the Nation's fans after seeing the poll result on Pedro. How can you possibly say that we'd be fine next year after his performance the other day? Just put yourself in his shoe. You may be able to understand his frustration. How many of you are satisfied with your salary? How many of you feel recognized properly by your employer of your effort and performance? Or even appreciated? Now you want to toss him away? Go ahead, and let the curse live on.

Pedro is not as good as we remember him. I think he has definite shoulder problems, Theo knows it, Pedro knows it and the Sox are not going to commit big money with such a question mark about his health. It that means we lose him, then so be it.

It's all in the numbers. If pedro pitches 30 games, 6 innings per game then his 17.5 million salary figures out to $97,000 per inning. Pedro no longer pitches 95 mile an hour fastballs. Pedro doesn't have the big frame that can endure the longevity that a Nolan Ryan or Roger Clemens have endured. If Pedro is smart he will negotiate with the Red Sox for a much lower salary. Blah blah blah.....the propaganda has already started. Pedro has been around long enough that he should understand. Guys like the Rocket and Mo pissed and moaned when they left. Management....no respect....blah blah. It doesn't matter! Leave Boston and do well, we hate you. Leave Boston and suck, we want you back. Leave Boston and become a Yankee, bury yourself. But whatever you think Sox management is doing to wrong you, we just don't give a rosy red rat's rump. And next year, when Pedro is pitching for an AL East rival, we're not going to even remember the accusations he's thrown out. At this rate, whoever he DOES sign with won't be paying anything close to $17.5mil.

I couldn't bear the thought of Pedro in pinstripes. It gives me goose bumps all over, and I hate goose bumps b/c they tickle. I am still in shock over the Clemens to NY fiasco, so I'm hoping the same doesn't happen with Pedro. If Pedro ends up in NY I'm going o lock myself in my apartment for the 2005 season. I'm going to follow women's hoop and pretend the Sox don't exist. If Pedro does stay I know one thing....I'm going to throw a big party in Southie, everyone is invited...so Cowboy up and resign Petey!!!!!

After being swept by Texas this weekend, I can't help but wonder how much his comments have affected the great chemistry of the team we have seen thus far. On the flip side, if they don't sign him who else is going to be available? And worse he'll become another Clemens, go to the Yankees and reinvent himself with many career years ahead!!
