Firstly, get the facts right. The interview occurred about five days before it was published, not on Friday, and that's according to the writer. Also according to the writer, he approached Pedro to confirm that Pedro's agent had informed the Red Sox that talks were off. Pedro was responding to a question asked of him. Pedro has long said that he would not negotiate during the season, so this can not be a surprise to anyone. There is no story here!

pedro is mad. no talk from mgmt nor a new contract. in his worse seaon his era is better than 95% of other pitchers and the ownership is treating badly. they should just say right out we want to wait until the of the season to talk. so pedro just did what they say we shall wait however i am willing to go to free agency all the way. i don't feel that he really wants to leave. i wants to retire a red sox, but give me contract to mull over now so that i get on with my life.

What a shame. After using Pedro for so many years, now the Red Sox fans want him out. Bunch of users

I've been a Sox fan my whole life and am residing in Dixie only because the Navy is making me. Concerning Pedro, I say good riddance. He's pulling the same stuff Clemens did way back when and I truly think the Sox were better without him too. I say they should trade Pedro. At least get something out of it for the rest of this year other than his whinning, then pick him up again next year and trade him off again. I think the rest of the season in the National Leage where he'll have to bat would help with his attitude.

Pedro makes Clemens look like a saint. Martinez epitomes all that is wrong in baseball; greedy, arrogant, selfish, and no sense of reality. Pedro is all about himself and always will be. He is on a high profile team with high profile players and needs to have attention on himself, even if negative. He hurts the team everytime he opens his big mouth. Kiss him good-bye!

I've about had enough of this guy and his ungratefulness. Pedro is a great pitcher, but it remains to be seen whether he will ever be in a class with Roger Clemens. He's making $17 million after the Sox picked up his option last year, and he continues to hold them hostage with talks of walking? Take a hike, pal. If I were the Sox, I'd trade him now....to the National League. Get him to a team that will have a good chance of signing him for next year. Avoid the Evil Empire threat. I'll put my money on Schilling, Lowe, Wake and the rest. The Sox are in no better shape for winning the title today than they were last October. It's time to stop puttting up with this whining and get on with baseball. If they have to dump Pedro in order to keep Varitek and Lowe, I'm willing to roll that set of dice. And so should Theo and Weird Henry. Say your rosary for Terry Francona....he's gonna need all the help he can get!

Hey Pedro, try thinking of the fans for once. We give you are best.. millions of us... and you want to have a few more million $ instead. That is disrespect! I hope you blow your arm out trying to live up to the contract you think you deserve.

Petey opens his mouth and we have a THREE game losing streak. Someone should bring a muzzle to the next home game and give it to him. I am tired of hearing about how poor old Petey gets no respect. At least he is getting 17.5 Million for a ERA over 4.00 and not looking very strong in any of your starts. He was given a lot of respect when his option was picked up this year for 17.5 Million. And don't forget Oakland's pitchers will all be free agents in the next couple years.

Hes had it and he's bluffing. Let him go.

John , Rutland Vt

I always liked him as a pitcher, but never liked him as a human being.
