Pedro Martinez, in comments to the media, Friday declared "enough is enough" and closed the door on contract negotiations with the Sox, saying he will enter free agency after the season. J Bray, Cambridge Is Pedro a great pitcher? Yes. Is he as good/reliable as he was a few years ago? No. Does he whine? Yes. Will he want the sun, moon and stars to stay w/ the Red Sox? Yes. Is he worth all the ongoing drama? NO! He claims he has a family to consider. This guy, in what he's getting paid this year alone, is set for life. Unfortunately, it appears he's one of those workers that will never be satisfied w/ what he has earned. Something will always be wrong. Not enough money, the media isn't nice enough, etc. I've been a die-hard Sox fan since I was a wee lad and would obviouly like him to be in the rotaion next year but I think he's more ttrouble than he's worth. The Sox can pick-up one of the A's starters to replace him. Sorry Pedro, you were the best pitcher I ever saw but certainly not a team player.
