Diagnose the scuffling Sox

The Red Sox dropped their fifth straight game Wednesday night, dropping into a tie with the Yankees for first place in the AL East. A week ago, they led the Bombers by 4½ games!

They've been sloppy in the field, slumping at the plate and Pedro's whining again. So what can Terry Francona and Co. do to right the ship? Is this just a temporary snap, or in the Sox in serious trouble? Give us your take on Boston's woes, and what you think they can do to get back on track.

Relax people! 15-11 after 26 games equates to 93-69! Not too bad! We all know that they're better than they've played and will win again. The only reality is that good pitching always wins. The Sox have excellent pitching and the bats will come around. My thinking is they win 98 games and the AL East.

Terry is too cautious, and the Sox bats are anemic. They'll snap out of it, especially when Nomar and Trot are back. And finally, it's eery that we have not won a game since Pedro opened his whiney mouth. I think they set us up for a funk.

Pedro opened his mouth, we are 0 & 5 since Pedro spoke. We were better off when he didn't talk to the media.

tell them to stop swinging at the first pitch!!!! the Indians did it against Schilling, that was strategy that worked. The sox are doing it, and making quick, easy outs. When it is getting in the later innings, and a pitcher has 80+ pitches...SIT ON A FEW!!!!! especially with a team like cleveland that is not sure in its bullpen

OK folx, it is difficult watching the Red Sox lose 5 in a row, but they still have the rest of the season ahead of them. Every team goes thru a slump and the Red Sox are going thru their's. They are a good team and they will get out of it. Give them a chance. I still have faith in them. They'll do a great job.

I am a Sox fan living on the west side of the Bronx. I feel it is just a temporary slip, but it better stop soon because pretty soon we will be behind the yanks by a nice portion. Pedro's comments did not start this, but they sure didn't help. I am sick and tired of his cry baby like antics. He thinks everyone should pamper his butt. The sox cannot hit or field and I don't know why. The sox pitching is fine. They just need some freaking run support. It is ugly. The entire team has gotta start hitting. Mueller has got to field better , hell the entire team has to. I am very upset at the position the team is in. They have better shape up or shape out.

It's just a slump....no need to panic, RedSox Nation. They will hit again. It's pretty early in the season. What? Did you think they were going to win every single game? Granted, with a pitching staff like they have they should have a chance. And they have, but you have to score runs. They are missing two huge bats in their line up and it's only May. The Yankees were slumping too and now they're winning. It's only a matter of time. Everyone just take it easy. Everything is going to be okay.

Go to basics, manufacture runs play baseball , do not play for the big inning. thats all

Hey it's early let's not panic. We need to just survive until we get Nomar and Trot back. We'll be alright.
