OK Sox fans, time to vent

Talk about a June swoon. We can't think of two worse back-to-back losses than the ones the Red Sox suffered Tuesday and Wednesday nights, simply dreadful. Terry Francona seems to be making all the wrong decisions and players are fielding like they've got "Chico's Bail Bonds" ironed on the back of their jerseys.

To make matters worse, these losses were to the Yankees, and dropped Boston 7½ games behind New York in the AL East, the largest deficit since Grady Little's crew fell that low last August.

Things don't appear to be getting any better, either. The Sox were 11-14 in the month of June, and may have lost setup man Scott Williamson with an elbow injury Wednesday night.

The doctor isn't in, but feel free to sit on our couch and vent your feelings on the Sox. Can they turn this around? How? What are they doing wrong? Is this Francona's fault, or does the blame lie higher up the chain with Theo and the Trio? Or are the players to blame? Trade Nomar? Acquire a first baseman? Bring back Grady? It's open season ...

Year after year it's the same thing over and over again. Maybe Theo and the rest of management should start rebuilding a team for 2014 to celebrate an even 100th years of frustration. Better hurry, you have only 10 years left.

I'd rather have problems with our team now than be playing 100% like the Yankees are now. Wait til September & October, we'll beat them then.

Mario, Haverhill

No more Cowboy-Up, it's now ERROR-UP !!

James, Boston

I never thought I would see worse than Grady but Mr. FranCOMA is a disgrace. I would like to see the Yankee fans tonight affix his picture on the wall for K's. To be interviewed by sports radio while on the team bus is as gutless and clueless as it gets. Can we get a national league team in Boston....Please!

Mike, Saugus

I think it's time for the people of Boston to realize that there will NEVER EVER be another world series here. Let's end it now and stop the continuous embarassment for Boston. Disband the team and turn Fenway into condos.

Joe, Quincy

After watching last nights game I was extremely angered and what happened. The fact that the Yankees only won by 2 runs was a tragedy. Looks like the Sux-Nation should have spent that extra money to get A-Rod and trade Nomar. Things in the Bronx are looking good once again. Don't worry Boston, things will get better....Pedro will be a Yankee soon and you guys will finally see a ring on his finger. HA HA>

Alan, New York, NY

Is it true that we hired Bill Buckner to be the infield coaching instructor in spring training?

Ken , New York City

If I were Larry Luchinno, I would ahve paid a visit to the clubhouse las tnight and delivered the following message to Nomar. "Nomar, its been a nice 7 years , but dont expect a bid from this oprganization after the season. Tell Arn to seek out opportunities elsewhere cause this organization has no use for emotional wrecks who muff routine plays, cant throw and swing at everything in sight. And Nomar, pass this along to your friend Jason. There wont be a bid for him either. The most overated player in baseball needs to find another home!"

Don, New York

I'm upset wtih the defense, the lack of heart, the loss of the ability to hit the ball in or out of clutch situations. Sure, those things make me frustrated enough to go the bed (like I did last night) 2 innings early. The thing I am most upset with is the lack of a regular line-up every night. I never know who's going to play or not play. Get the line-up that scores the big runs (since it seems to be either feast or famine with these guys). Damon - CF Pokey - 2B Ortiz - DH!!!! Manny - LF Nomar - SS Trot - RF Varitek - C Kapler/McCarty - 1B Youkilis - 3B Go with that every night to get regular guys in and prepared to play. Hit and run - use it! And, by the way, last year at this time the Red Sox had just about the same record. Francona needs to get them hitting some how - that's what's missing. If that happens, I'm still in it in October. Hey and for that Yankee Fan who didn't put your name on your blathering response, I'm disgusted by your lack of pride in your winning team.

Matt, Northbridge

This is a crew without a leader. The club needs a leader to keep them focussed. Nomar did it last year. He can't this year for obvious reasons. No one else seems to be in a position to step up and get these guys welded into a unit. They are a bunch of individuals each trying to be THE HERO. Doesn't work. Not in baseball.
