OK Sox fans, time to vent

Talk about a June swoon. We can't think of two worse back-to-back losses than the ones the Red Sox suffered Tuesday and Wednesday nights, simply dreadful. Terry Francona seems to be making all the wrong decisions and players are fielding like they've got "Chico's Bail Bonds" ironed on the back of their jerseys.

To make matters worse, these losses were to the Yankees, and dropped Boston 7½ games behind New York in the AL East, the largest deficit since Grady Little's crew fell that low last August.

Things don't appear to be getting any better, either. The Sox were 11-14 in the month of June, and may have lost setup man Scott Williamson with an elbow injury Wednesday night.

The doctor isn't in, but feel free to sit on our couch and vent your feelings on the Sox. Can they turn this around? How? What are they doing wrong? Is this Francona's fault, or does the blame lie higher up the chain with Theo and the Trio? Or are the players to blame? Trade Nomar? Acquire a first baseman? Bring back Grady? It's open season ...

We are, as usual, watching the Sox season slip away. '86 was a very painful experience. The Sox were within one strike, one out, one pop-up of winning it all and they couldn't punch their ticket. Last year drained the last hopes I had for these poor slobs. I really feel sorry for diehard fans because they're going to die; hard. I am one of those die hard fans, and hope things go well, but we've seen it all before.

Epstein's fault. He and management made the huge blunder of trying to ditch Nomar, the heart of the team, in the off season, and now they're paying for it. The team's obviously missing something, heart, desire, confidence, and I fear management killed it in their shady dealings of the off-season.

Put Nomar at second and Pokey at short. Nomar always has been a horrible fielder and always will be!

There sure were a lot of mistakes and omissions of thought last night in the Bronx on the part of the Red Sox. But I think the greatest miscue was Belhorn being so far off the bag during Sheffield's at bat. With a dead pull hitter pulling I don't know how many balls foul during that great at bat, you think someone would have told Belhorn to guard the line.

Anybody got jumpercables??? This team is dead!!!!

Nomar is done. He seems to be more concerned with style points than making plays. Kenny Lofton is not nearly as fast as he used to be, but even if Nomar ate that ball last night, at least they don't hand Lofton second. Then we have to listen to Nomar say there is no problem... and he thinks the Sox should give him $16 - $18 million a year... in the words of Dan Duquette, Nomar is "in the twilight of his career". They should have sent him packing after last season to make sure that they got something in return!

The Red Sox are done again. This time it is much earlier than in years past. The curse goes on and has stricken the Sox defense. What a promising year it seemed to be. Coming off a powerhouse hitting season then improving our pitching staff along with a new manager and an aggressive owner who could match ole George boy. I fully expected the Sox to win a world series. I was blind sided by the A-Rod deal. That should have been my tip off. But once again trying to believe, I was let down. Lets face it fellow sox fans. The curse goes on and I dont think in my life time I will ever see a world series winner come from Boston. Time to look forward to the Patriots and gather our third world championship in 4 years. Doesn't that sound sweet. To bad Red Sox players. You can buy tickets at Gillette Stadium to watch a winner like you could have been.
