OK Sox fans, time to vent

Talk about a June swoon. We can't think of two worse back-to-back losses than the ones the Red Sox suffered Tuesday and Wednesday nights, simply dreadful. Terry Francona seems to be making all the wrong decisions and players are fielding like they've got "Chico's Bail Bonds" ironed on the back of their jerseys.

To make matters worse, these losses were to the Yankees, and dropped Boston 7½ games behind New York in the AL East, the largest deficit since Grady Little's crew fell that low last August.

Things don't appear to be getting any better, either. The Sox were 11-14 in the month of June, and may have lost setup man Scott Williamson with an elbow injury Wednesday night.

The doctor isn't in, but feel free to sit on our couch and vent your feelings on the Sox. Can they turn this around? How? What are they doing wrong? Is this Francona's fault, or does the blame lie higher up the chain with Theo and the Trio? Or are the players to blame? Trade Nomar? Acquire a first baseman? Bring back Grady? It's open season ...

Welcome to the world of Terry Francona. We put up with him for 4 years. He is a bad manager with no motivational skills, and players dont seem to want to play for him. Lots of luck!!!

When are the guys in the Front office going to realize we need help on this team fast ?

A diehard since 67. You people are more disappointing than this team. Wow. If you're a Sox fan, you know you come back every year, every series, every game. You know you'll be there WHEN they start winning. Because they always do. Why not spend less time crying and more time accepting. The Yankees are the best team money can buy. Baseball, without a salary cap, and with a spineless quizzling for a commisioner, is broken. Until that changes, NY isn't going to roll over, so we must admit they're the best. That doesn't mean we have to like it, we just can't CHANGE it. But we do have a choice is continuing to hope and support. Take heart, have faith, never say die. Any dumb**** can be a Yankee fan. I am not happy but I'll never stop loving my team. And whining will solve nothing. And you people KNOW THIS SEASON IS NOT OVER!! Believe it, will ya? death, taxes, and Yankees suck! some things shall always be true. Rick

Boston fans, get over it! It's just a game! A game that a lot of us played for free. Yes, 1918 is a long time ago, a long time to suffer in defeat, but bottom line, it's just a game! Get over it! You have the world champion football team, dont be greedy. Just accept the fact that the curse of the Bambino is alive and well and will always be. If you have to concentrate on something, concentrate on our young men and women in Iraq. That's not a game, that's a battle involving life and death and they certainly need our support. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts!

As a lifelong Red Sox fan who lives in Evil Empire territory, I've got to admit that I'm angry and embarassed by the way the Sox have played in the last month -- especially against the Yankees. You'd think the Sox would want to beat the hell out of the Yankees, but it seems like they don't care. Why don't the Sox want to stick it to the Yankees as much as the FANS do? Things have got to change for this team.

You knew it was over when the Sox failed to score a run with no outs and the bases loaded. And what the heck is Timlin (whom I really like) doing shaking off Maribelli when Sheffield was up to bat. You could see the disgusted look on the catchers face, even behind the mask. The Yankees know how to play fundamental baseball. Francona should be fired before the All Star break. He is not a baseball manager, he is simply someone who gets a free pass to watch each ballgame and see if he can find some way to mess things up. The only way he knows to spell bunt is POKEY, otherwise he won't do it. If it were close to Thanksgiving Francona would feel right at home on the table with the other Turkeys.

Players and manager keep reminding the media and fans its a long season and we're only going through a tough period. Its like getting into a car accident in the first ten miles of a 162 mile trip and saying, 'don't worry I am sure the rest of the drive will be smooth.' What drugs do they think we're on? Or better yet, what are they taking to come up with such lame statements to the press. Why can't they for once just say, 'hey, really sucked today, and might very well suck some more until we get our act together.' Or better yet, ' hey, we admit it, we are a highly overated and overpaid team, but we'll take the check, and you can still pay at the gate.'

As in all cities, Atlanta is a fairly large Boston sports contingency. I've got 5th row seats behind the dugout for this upcoming series. But I'm going to eat my tx to the Sox/Braves series this 4th weekend. I would rather watch my ribs cooking than watch the Sox get burned. -Jon

I honestly hope the Sox continue this early fade. Why? Because then they can finally blow up this regime that has never won anything! I am sick and tired of the annual tease of going to the brink, only to lose. Let's blow it up! Get Nomah out of town now, while he still has some trade value (YOUNG PROSPECTS). Forget about signing Lowe. Take that money next year and sign someone more consistent in the free agent market. I'd still try to sign Pedro and Tek though. And Francona is pathetic. He must go. GO PATS!
