OK Sox fans, time to vent

Talk about a June swoon. We can't think of two worse back-to-back losses than the ones the Red Sox suffered Tuesday and Wednesday nights, simply dreadful. Terry Francona seems to be making all the wrong decisions and players are fielding like they've got "Chico's Bail Bonds" ironed on the back of their jerseys.

To make matters worse, these losses were to the Yankees, and dropped Boston 7½ games behind New York in the AL East, the largest deficit since Grady Little's crew fell that low last August.

Things don't appear to be getting any better, either. The Sox were 11-14 in the month of June, and may have lost setup man Scott Williamson with an elbow injury Wednesday night.

The doctor isn't in, but feel free to sit on our couch and vent your feelings on the Sox. Can they turn this around? How? What are they doing wrong? Is this Francona's fault, or does the blame lie higher up the chain with Theo and the Trio? Or are the players to blame? Trade Nomar? Acquire a first baseman? Bring back Grady? It's open season ...

IS IT REALLY ANY SURPRISE? I ASK REDSOX NATION TO POINT THE FINGER AT ONE PERSON (JOHN HENRY) HE REALLY IS SOUR GRAPES! AT LEAST STEINBRENNER CARES ENOUGH TO PURCHASE THE VERY BEST! HENRY ALIENATED THE ENTIRE SOX NATION AND CLUBHOUSE BY NOT PULLING THE TRIGGER ON AROD. BALKED AT FREDDY GARCIA! BALKED AT BELTRAN! AND HERE WE ARE 7.5 GAMES BEHIND (RIGHT ON SCHEDULE) HERE`S AN ANSWER (BOYCOTT THE REDSOX GAMES AND STICK IT TO HENRY!!! MILLAR IS AWFUL! NOMAR (WHERE TO I BEGIN) IS HE REALLY BETTER THAN JETER? JETER IS A WINNER AND I`M A SOX FAN! ORTIZ AND MANNY CANNOT CONTINUE TO CARRY THIS TEAM! WHAT GOOD IS FOULKE WHEN HENRY CANNOT GET THE BALLPLAYERS ON THE FIELD TO USE HIM! WHO CARES ABOUT THE 120 MIL PAYROLL WHEN YOU MAKE HORRIBLE MISTAKES! TERRY FRANCONA IS A TERRIFIC PUPPET FOR THE FRANCHISE. THE BUCK CERTAINLY STOPS AT HENRY! LESSON TO BE LEARNED, YOU CAN ACQUIRE ALL THE BELLHORNS AND MILLARS ALL YOU WANT. IT TAKES MORE THAN BANJOWAGON BALLPLAYERS TO WIN A WORLD SERIES. JOHN HENRY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE REDSOX WINNING. HE CARES MORE ABOUT HIS BUSINESS VENTURE AT FENWAY AND FOR THAT SOX FANS IS A REAL TRAGEDY. I WISH WE HAD A BETTER FRONT OFFICE! WHO CARES ABOUT ACQUIRING ANYBODY NOW. IT`S JULY AND IT`S THE SAME OLD STORY. HOW ABOUT FIRING JOHN HENRY!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE TERRIFIC PRODUCT ONCE AGAIN!

Steve, Dracut

It appears to me that the Sox players are intimidated by the Yanks. The looks on their faces in the 8th and 9th innings reminded me of a deer looking into the headlights. I have been a Red Sox fan since 1967 and have to tell you it is very frustrating.

If I was the owner of the club I would have a serious sit down with Nomar. He's playing like a subversive. If he doesnt want to be here trade for a quality starter. McCarthy would be my starting first base man with Ortiz as the DH. Mr Cowboy up can be Mr. Pack it up. Get Kim back into the bull pen and switch Timlin to a starter. I'm frustrated beyond description. My blood pressure went through the roof to the point it caused me to have a bloody nose. I'm a die hard fan but a wake up call is needed. jea

Thank you for all the blunders and allowing my team yet another game I can rerun on my YES network as a Yankee Classic. Nomar, how about 2nd base? Love, George Steinbrenner P.S. Countdown to Extinction, 7 1/2 games out!

George Steinbrenner, NY

These guys are horrible, can't hit in the clutch, can't field, throw, bunt and the manager is strategically paralyzed. WTF is Millar doing in the lineup? Where is McCarty? I have been to many games this year and I am disgusted with the management of this team. Francona sits in the dugout rocking back and forth like Rainman...WAKE-UP

Theo and the Trio should be blamed. Making Grady Little the scapegoat for barely missing the World Series will haunt this team for the remainder of the season (and perhaps longer). Rather than viewing last season as a very good one, and solid progress toward the ultimate goal, they decided to fire the man who led them to the ALCS (and who likely could have led them further this season). A lesson should be learned from this grasp at immediate gratification. I can't help but feel Theo and the Trio struck out with their post-season decision making in 2003.

What is with T. Francona's absolute aversion? inability? to say anything the least bit negative about the mess we are in and the guys who are doing it? "It hurts real bad" does not cut it . Baseball is not an encounter group, but this team is having some encounters of a horrible kind and they need their manager to stop being so reflexively rosy and tell the truth. Its hard to respect someone who can't be genuine when you need it. And we all need it! Knock off the knee-jerk niceties, TF, and play ball!

Cut your losses. Fire this clown Francona before its too late.
